Ever just not in the mood (NSFW)

Asked by Jude (32204points) July 17th, 2011

And, don’t know why?

I can’t figure out why. It’s not medication. The desire, right now, it’s just not there.

Sure, if I’m tired or anxious about something else.

Prescription: Take 2 naked cartwheels and call me in the morning.
seriously.. only if I have work to do and my partner doesn’t appreciate how important it is to get done.

Sometimes it’s just not!

Like @Simone_De_Beauvoir, if I feel crappy or anxious, then I won’t be in the mood. Being tired however, doesn’t seem to affect me.

I am more not in the mood than in the mood. I am single and don’t have a SO, so I don’t even think about that. I have other things to worry about and that is not my main focus in life. Also, sexual desire is affected by levels of energy, mood changes, hormonal changes, etc.
I dont think you have to worry too much about that. You don’t have to be in the mood all the time, just like you are not in the mood for certain activities all the time. Sometimes you lose your apetite or don’t feel like working out or going for walks.

For me it’s stress at the moment, anything sexual at the moment is related to strange memories and ideas, I need to give it a while.

For you, there will be something psychological causing it I’m guessing, it just seems more likely that this kind of problem is usally in the mind.

@Jude I definitely have swings ni interest level, but never to the point where I’m never to the point of being completely “not in the mood” and having no idea why. There are things that can kill the mood, but when they are going on, I definitely know it.

The state of your relationship or the presence of depression can be important influences on sexual desire and interest.

No.

Always in the mood.

Sure have. Since I started meds for blood pressure it’s been a major issue. I just make sure I take care of her if she’s in the mood. I can do a lot without getting my rocks off.

I think, perhaps, it is because I am not happy with myself, right now.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

I think you just hit on a big part of it. Self image is major part. Maybe just don’t push the issue too much and just relax for a little? Let it come to you?

Hormones. As we get older hormones start to do strange things to our minds and bodies.

Jude's avatar

My hormones are out of whack, so, that makes sense.

Eat some chocolate..that should work. Chocolate is known to be a good aphrodisiac. Just dont eat too much though cause you will gain too much weight.
