This might sound stupid and hippie. I enjoy looking at flowers and blades of grass for extended periods of time. Nature is neat. I am not a Hippie.

Cliffs…...the wildlife, the breeze, the waves crashing and sea out to the horizon. It’s humbling, relaxing and always clears my head and that’s the best time to find inspiration or motivation.

Watching my children. I see what the concentration and effort they put into every task and think what an example that is.

People who achieve success doing what they love. That is the ultimate.

People who in spite of great odds they face in life don’t give up and fight until the end. Take a look at http://www.metacafe.com/tags/nick_vujicic_no_arms_no_legs_no_worries/
This guy makes all my problems nothing compared to his situation. So I have no excuses not to be able to succeed in life.

@johnpowell: But I am starting to worry you may be a hipster. Do you own skinny jeans?

richmarshall's avatar

I agree with Bri_L, there is nothing like getting inspiration from my kids. Funny thing is that when they were toddlers I was inspired to teach them all about the world. Now that they are in middle school I am inspired to shelter them from the world….lol.

Bri_L's avatar

@ richmarshall – I hear that!

Boy though. I look at what they are comparatively capable of learning in one day and then look at myself, I feel like a schmuck.

JP whats wrong with being a hippie heh. Im right there with you though nature is amazing.

My Father was my first inspiration. He taught me that I could do anything I set my mind to.
He grew up poor, but when he retired, he was a high end executive for General Electric.

My SO inspires me now. He brought me out of a dead end situation and helped me get back on track. My life has greatly improved since I met him.

The people around us who beat the odds everyday.

The guy in a wheelchair I saw sweeping his sidewalk on my way to work today, for an example.

Aron Ralston, who was climbing in May 2003 near Moab, UT. He was pinned under a boulder for 5 days, and amputated his own arm in order to survive.

The film Under the Same Moon.

The people I see waiting for the bus to get to work, in inclement weather conditions.

The ant carrying a piece of food 25 times its own weight back to its nest.

The family members of all those who perished or were injured in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The film A Mighty Heart.

The eulogies and interviews Terri Raines Irwin, Steve Irwin’s widow, and their daughter Bindi Sue Irwin, gave after his untimely death.

My father passed away last week. He had some health problems due to his weight.

As sad as I am, I am also now inspired to become a fit individual for the rest of my life.

My father loved children, so I am inspired to have a few myself some day and love them as he loved me. My staying fit will allow them to know and love me for more than the 23 years that I had to know my father.

Bri_L's avatar

@ Entainwinter – My condolences to you and the best to you.

edmartin101's avatar

@Entainwinter Just a personal note on these difficult times you are going through
Just Call On Me

I can’t comprehend just how sad you must feel
For the loss of someone you love.
This sorrowful time must still feel unreal
And you’re looking for strength from above.

I hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease,
That your spirit will gain strength again,
And I pray that your faith will create inner peace
And that God will send blessings—Amen.

Till then, if you need me to lighten your load,
I’m waiting to come to your aid.
Just call on me, and I’ll walk down that road,
Until the dark times start to fade.

Deep condolences,

By Karl Fuchs

anything & anytime around my life!
ps: theres one time i took the right inspiration for a website in the bathroom!

edmartin101's avatar

@stephen I’ve heard that before. In the bathroom the mind works wonders, that’s how http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka_(word) found out that the mass of an object is equal to the volume of water displaced, huh!!

My Mom and Dad…they sacrificed alot to get to the US and provide me with the things and opportunities i have today…in the face of adversity they did what they had to do and lived happily ever after…

@johnpowell You’re not a hippy? Why ever not?

Nature has a way of doing that for me

Dsg's avatar

@johnpowell Your comment wasn’t stupid and I understand what you are saying. All of God’s creatures and nature is amazing to me. Nature is beautiful and can be relaxing. I remember being in Fla yrs ago and driving on a road overlooking the ocean. I saw dolphins jumping up out of the water. It was so amazing and beautiful! I looked at other people just driving by like it was no big deal. If people would just take time to watch nature more often, life wouldn’t be quite so hectic and we wouldn’t all be stressed to get to where ever in a hurry.

That’s just my thoughts anyway.

Dsg's avatar

@Entainwinter I wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss. I haven’t lost any close loved ones to me, but I know the time is coming. I can only imagine the pain it feels, but try and remember all the special times you shared with your Dad. Remember all those great memories and that will keep him alive in your heart! Sorry, I hope I’m not making you get emotional all over again. Take things one day at a time. If you need to even say…take it 1 min. at a time that’s ok too. Hang in there! Feel free to shoot me a text and I’ll be glad to listen if you need to talk.
