Why do people get so grumpy all the time?
I’m sure it happened to you too. There are a lot of reasons so I wanna ask what are your reasons to get you in a grumpy mood?

Usually my grumpiness has to do with my own needs not being met. Either I’m hungry, tired, have a migraine or my family is being severely needy of me at a moment when I am spent.
The heat doesn’t help the ones I love…Man they get cranky when they’re hot!
Hell, what aren’t the reasons…I get grumpy a lot…I don’t like when people don’t come through, when the MTA fails (yet again), when others can’t function, etc.
My number one reason for a grumpy mood is Hanger (hunger + anger) usually hunger first, followed by anger that I’m still hungry and need to eat. It’s bad.
My second reason is stress.
I’m getting grumpier the older I get, I hate to think what I’ll be like in another twenty years, if I manage to live that dam long :-/
They’re hungry.
I get grumpy when I am hungry.
Only when I’m hungry or tired. I usually let other stuff just slide off my back.
I get grumpy when I’m in pain or someone treats me disrespectfully.
People? All the time” The answer is that they don’t.
I am not grumpy, you are grumpy.
I want bob to make me a damn sandwich!!
I get grumpy when I’m in pain and can’t do anything about it, when I’m sleep deprived, and when my husband is away for extended periods of time.
I’ll get grumpy if no one gives me any lurve for this response.
purposely making @erichw1504 grumpy through my passive aggressive actions
I get really, really GRUMPY when people who name themselves “Hibernate” ask me what makes me GRUMPY! Grrrrrrr!
I dunno, i’ll ask Dopey…..oh he’s feeling Happy, the randy bugger ;¬}
I rarely, if ever get grumpy (honest) and prefer to be with people who behave the same way.
Maybe I get close to grumpy if I have not had a roll in the hay for a few days.
You’ll know when I’m grumpy. I’ll be large and green.

I get grumpy when I’m tired, hungry, when I need my own space yet continue to entertain people. Hormones also play a part.
When I’m hungry, when I’m dehydrated, when I lack sleep, and especially when I go without sexy time for more than a day.
When I just want to be alone and they don’t take the hints I get very grumpy.
I have two kids under 3. Lack of sleep gives me a very low douchebag tolerance.
Phone scammers beware!! I will take you down with vitriol that’ll kill plants and make pirates cry!
Otherwise, I’m really very nice.
Unexpectedly running out of money….and it only gets worse from there.
Barbwire in their shorts ! !
I think it happens when people let emotion cloud the logical side of their brains. It can be difficult to look at problems separately and realize that one issue isn’t necessarily related to everything else.
That’s the answer I thought about. The short response is, they need a drink and/or to get laid.
As others have said, I too am grumpy when in pain. And I’m an arthritic so, I’m mister grumpy pants without whiskey or oxycodone or the like. With painkillers, I’m a happy happy friendly person.
LOL! Well, @Blueroses for me, 1 out of 2 ain’t bad for tonight! You’re right. It’s when you let emotion run you over. It hit hard today. I just have to muddle on through the next few hours until my logic kicks back in and overrides the emotion, like it always does. I count on it. I think that’s why they call it the blues.
@everephebe Hey…whatever the reason, on painkillers I’m a happy happy person too!
I am tired.
I am hungry.
I feel uncared for and like nobody is listening to me and hearing me.
I have PMT.
I just am and there is no logical reason for me being moody. Probably means I need to get out and have some fun or some great sex!
I LOVE YOU BELLATRIX! THERE IS A PIZZA COMING TO YOUR DOOR! Go take a nap until it gets there. I hope you have the money to pay the pizza guy, Clyde, though…
@Bellatrix and @dutchess I challenge you girls to a beer chugging contest!
Because I am a throbbing mass of anger who hates everything and believes in nothing but darkness.
Also, all your chugging contests are belong to me once I decide to hit the booze, yah.
Hey…I think I have a 3 beer head start on you! Better hurry! O. Wait. Better be careful. Clyde’s comin’ to your door! Also, I was careful to ask your husband what kind of pizza you like… [insert snicker here!]
I’m on my fourth. :D
Also, who’s Clyde lol?
Well, I think Kate The Great will be joining us soon to fill you in on Clyde. Cat Fight! OK, catching up on the beer now now!
Well, I don’t know Clyde is, but they ain’t gettin’ me beer.
I read somewhere that people get grumpy “because they care.” I’m still wondering about that—what do you think?
Clyde is a Pizza guy. A hot one, according to Kate the Great!
I disagree @linguaphile. If people are grumpy because they “care,” then they’re just being a martyr.
I welcome Clyde…oh yeaaaaah that guy. I remember! He was all late and shit, right?
@Dutchess_III I meant it more like, they’re grumpy because they want things to be better than the current status quo. If they didn’t want it to be better or different, they wouldn’t care, so their mood wouldn’t change. Do you still think that’s a martyr?
I get grumpy upon discovering I share the same name with the pizza guy.
When I’m tired or someone brings up something that brings back memories I don’t wanna remember or hungry or just nothing going right makes me grumpy!
Well, @linguaphile….yes I mean everything could be better than it is for everybody. The ones who are grumpy about it are just trying to draw attention to their own plight, although it’s no worse than anyone elses. IMO.
Does that mean this discussion is finished??
Never! So, one time, at band camp…
I was grumpily marching about with my tuba when suddenly….
a mosquito bit me in the butt…
so I hit it with my tuba and as a result….
my butt swelled up to twice it’s normal size…
and now my skinny jeans don’t fit…
So I’m marching about naked, just me and my tuba and…
Not getting enough sleep files down my patience, priming me for grumpiness. Then something goes wrong at work (malfunction, schedule failure, self-important boss, irritating co-workers, irritating customers, etc.) and I get grumpy.
Being compelled to do things that I don’t want to do while I am sleepy (worse if you’re waking me up to do them) makes me very grumpy.
Being naked and marching about with a Tuba makes me very grumpy. Even worse if I have the kind of day @Nullo just had! It’ll get better, dude.
