They make me think of My Little Ponies, maybe that’s where it’s coming from.

I’ll just blame it on 4chan.

But it’s based off a video on YouTube, called Pony Polka. The creator of the music video uses a mixed song created by Weird Al. But it actually is a real show, but YouTube really got the name out there.

So far I haven’t even seen any pony avatars. Now I’m gonna go looking for them! I have noticed a bunch of cute anime avatars though.

Well, after reading the meme history of this thing, it’s abundantly clear that some people have WAY TOO MUCH time on their hands.

Its from a show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It has a huge fandom made up of mostly teenage boys and men. They’re called “bronies”. It’s a really cute show! I don’t understand why you would be irritated by someone’s avatar.
