@pashley_108 Well, ever since that vet appointment, he has done everything in his power to keep away from the cat carrier. His seventh sense is vet visit sense.

pashley_108's avatar

@athenasgriffin wow what a smart cat lol

woodcutter's avatar

I had hell getting my dog inside the vet clinic. It was weird but no way was she going in that door. So I had to pick her up and carry her inside and I felt parts falling off me as I moved. She’s about 80 lbs. It was just a rabies shot. @athenasgriffin

It’s unbelievable how smart some animals are!

athenasgriffin's avatar

@woodcutter I completely sympathize . I have a 125 pound Great Dane that is fairly single minded in his intense need to follow me everywhere. It is endearing, but difficult, because he can do serious damage.

The power of thought and the use of at least one hand.

Other than the usual food, water, air, there is nothing I cannot live without. I found out the hard way that life goes on even after the loss of the ones I loved the most.

pashley_108's avatar

@YARNLADY that sounds about right. I just can’t imagine it though.

Things would be awkward without a pocket knife. It’s always there, until I forget where i put it.

pashley_108's avatar

@woodcutter hmm that’s something I don’t usually hear! Where you from?

Air conditioning

woodcutter's avatar

@pashley_108 Okla. Almost everyone here has some kind of small pocket knife that clips on the edge of a pocket. Some just leave theirs down inside their pocket but I find that uncomfortable. I use mine several times a day for all kinds of things. It’s a cheapo 8 dollar Walmart special that is nicely made, surprisingly. No big loss if it comes up missing some day. Do you have one?

MilkyWay's avatar

Right now, I wouldn’t be able to survive without air conditioning.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to live without the trainers I have, and my little sister that I really care about.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

I’ve always believed I could find a love that would be, “right person, right place, right time”. It took half my life and after a a close-but-no-cigar great hope, I’ve got the real deal now. That’s what’s kept me going.
With any luck I’ll be able to enjoy it for a long, long, long time.

pashley_108's avatar

@woodcutter I learnt something new. Nope we don’t carry pocket knives around, maybe some people do, but it’s something that just isn’t needed, I live in Australia.

@Neizvestnaya I thought I found that person I was wrong! I hope you guys stay happy and together. :)

Jeruba's avatar

@woodcutter, I do, and I use it nearly every day. I live in an urban neighborhood of Northern California, and I’ve been carrying one since my twenties in New England. Before that I always borrowed my father’s for those sudden incidental blade-needing situations.

Mine would be pretty useless as a weapon, but I can readily open parcels, cut a length of string (as I just did 5 minutes ago), remove a label, smooth a broken fingernail, slice an apple, get inside those damnable molded plastic packages, slit envelopes, snip hanging threads, open presents, and, in a pinch, blaze a trail. People who don’t carry pocket knives—and probably most do not—have to go for the scissors and other tools much more often than I do.

pashley_108's avatar

Thats true, well we never carry knives.

woodcutter's avatar

@pashley_108 This reminds me of that scene in “Crocodile Dundee” when he was about to be mugged by a thug with a small knife. Dundee says “that’s no knife, Now this is a knife” as he pulls out this huge knife that looks like a small sword and scares the muggers away. After that I sort of thought Aussies just had knives around, no? Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01NHcTM5IA4

It does. I have not seen Crocodile Dundee, for a long time.
