I’m currently enrolled in a pharmacy tech certificate program through a local school. It’s a complex field that covers topics in medical terminology, ethics, law and requires great skills in mathematics: Proportions, unit conversion, dimensional analysis etc.
These are all subjects that benefit from a live instructor because you never know where your questions will arise and all topics are integrated. Honestly, I would recommend looking for a brick & mortar school in your area to pursue this field. I found my program through the Public Schools Adult Education dept.
Good luck!

I forgot to mention that an online course or self-study will not help you to know your particular state’s requirements. No matter how hard I studied on my own for my state’s license exam, I wouldn’t be eligible to apply to take it until:
1) getting high scores on a battery of National standardized tests in math, writing, reading and interpretation of data as well as tests in keyboard accuracy and computer literacy
2) completing a criminal background check
3) getting a drug/alcohol screening
4) passing a credit history check
A local school will walk you through the process, submit your application for you and place you in your required clinical hours internships. It’s difficult to find employers willing to give you the clinicals if you aren’t attached to a school they recognize.
