At home facial?

Asked by babygalll (2768points) April 30th, 2008

Do you know a way to give yourself a facial at home? What products do you use? How do you get rid of blackheads? Ho to get a brighter and smoother complexion?

You can get loads of face-masks for home. I have mud, “peel-off” and deep cleansing. Depending what I’m trying to fix, I use whichever is most appropriate.

My ex girlfriend, an Esthetician, would say hell no.
She was a pro and wouldn’t even do it out of her house.

Esthetician? That’s such a cool – and somewhat ambiguous title…

She loves it. She really gets off on popping others’ zits. The pay is pretty good too.

The thought makes me cringe!!.....But, I’m glad some people enjoy it. I prefer to be at the receiving end.

Oh, but if you are in to DIY facials, this might be interesting.

you put on those scary-green hardened, mask facials. My Cousin always puts those on. They never work.
Google homemade all natural DIY facials (I Know, thats long!)

If I were to make a homemade facial I’d
put oatmeal in it.

Green?.....I’d read the ingredients on that before putting it on. Now, brown/grey for a mud mask, I can understand…..that’s about the same colour you’d get if you went to lay face down on in the garden on a rainy day…....but as much as I appreciate organic stuff, I don’t think I’ll be doing that any time soon…

My mom is an Esthetician, she would also say no facials at home. If i want one i have to go to her place of work.

haha @wildflower- it was a joke.. Havent you seen those movies were there facial masks are green? I never quite got that. With the cucumbers over there eyes?....

hehe….yea, seen them….along with the curlers and all :)
btw, the cucumbers are supposed to be great for your eye area, avoiding puffy, baggy eyes or dark cirles – my mum believes in that….never tried.

Half the pleasure and benefit of a facial is having someone else taking care of you and doing the work, massaging, and clean-up. Treat yourself half as often to a salon and a pro.
