Why not use reusable plastic or glass containers? They’re a little more expensive but cheaper in the long run, and better for the environment.

I agree with @Seelix. There are plenty of BPA-free plastic food storage options. Also, don’t forget to reuse containers that certain foods come in. Large yogurt containers have lids. Glass peanut butter and pasta sauce jars make excellent storage containers.

Reusable is going to be cheaper in the long run. I agree with the others, buy some Tupperware for $30 and you can sanitize them as often as you’d like, they’ll hold more, squish your food less and be better for the environment.

Not all plastic is suitable for freezing. Your average plastic bread wrapper is air permeable, and if food is stored in such a bag, it’ll be freezer burned quickly compared to plastic that’s not air permeable. To find such bags, they need to say “freezer bag” on the label.

The non-toxic kind. Whether it’s for meat or for sandwiches or fruits or whatever size you want you can get it here “http://www.plasticplace.net/productlist/Food-Bags/9”
