Who else hates online chat rooms? Why do you?

I really don’t like them. I am very social in real life and am not shy here on Fluther, but, chat rooms are not for me. I can’t type fast, and people typing all at once, it gets confusing. I avoid them like the plague.

I don’t like them for talking to more than one person since it gets confusing and annoying quickly.
People not in high school still use chat rooms? Lol. I’m not a fan anymore for multiple reasons.
Not into them for the same reasons as yours.
I’m just not wired right to track things that way, I get a headache. Sometimes even the fast and furious threads make me nuts, chat is just way out of my skill set.
I mean, I used to like them. Now I don’t really use them. I also have a hard time jumping into the conversation. I’ve tried using the chat here so many times, but I never have anything to say.
I can’t keep up. They move too fast approaching disingenuous conversation. My mind isn’t wired that way. And I abhor disingenuous conversation.
Whenever I go there to see what’s going on, (bored), they are members I have never seen before.
It’s like people are talking across one another. It is hard to follow the conversation. I feel weird interrupting an established conversation.
Too many pervs and all you ever see is ASL?!??!!!?111!??
I don’t hate them, but I don’t like them either. I’m not online long enough at any given time to get involved in a conversation. That’s why I stay offline when I spend time on Facebook. I’ve got too many things going on to sit and chat with someone online. I prefer private messages.
That’s on THIS site’s chatroom?
Don’t like ‘em, never use them, too confusing, too much noise to signal.
@RealEyesRealizeRealLies I haven’t been on the chat rooms here, but I doubt it. I’m talking about yahoo chatrooms or something like that.
I don’t frequent chatrooms, but I do use Windows Live Messenger and often am involved in larger, 10+ people group chats. I don’t find it hard to keep up with at all as long as I’m on a computer, I can usually keep up with quick or multiple conversations at once.
I do enjoy chatrooms. I’ve met many great long-term friends through chat_avenue and I like getting to know some jellies better in the Fluther rooms (when they’re active.)
I’m with @bob_ . I like em’ too.
I once had a couple beers with Vunessuh on the fluther chatroom. That was pretty fun. Since I was drinking, it felt like I was at a party. Just a nerdy one where I’m typing in front of a computer instead of talking in person.
I think I could like a drunken chat room. That sounds better.
Maybe we should make a schedule.
It is fun. I often meet a bunch of regulars for drunken Thursday at The Watering Hole
Now, I’d be down for a drunken chat room :)
I don’t hate them. But I went on a Fluther chat room one time, and I could not figure out who was talking to whom! Certainly not to me. I gave up and left. But I am sure they are a great outlet for some.
I don’t mind them at all. Don’t use them very often these days except the times when I find some of the loveliest jellies in the Fluther chat room and get to play with them for a little while.
I don’t hate em, just view tw@ rooms as unworthy of my attention.
Come try fluther chat now, if you’d like.
I hate them. Even with people I know and like, they make me nervous. Too fast-paced, usually a lack of real conversation, and they just stress me out.
