How many days should I wear a pair of jeans before washing them?

I’ve always washed jeans after wearing them two or three times, but recently I’ve heard (from denim aficionados) that wearing them more before washing them will make better wear patterns. So if I want cool wear patterns, how long should I wear my jeans before washing them?

Assuming nothing was wiped or spilt on them throughout, I wear them for 2–4 days before I wash them, and they fit more comfortably.
If they are not obviously dirty and have not acquired a bad odor. I will wear my jeans twice before washing them.
2–3 days, more often if you go to Taco Bell… more often
You’re supposed to wash jeans?
I would say it depends on how much you sweat in them and how dirty they look. If you have stains on them or have sweated in them then wash them for pete’s sake! Living in south Alabama with a humidity level averaging 110% each day right now… washing after 1 or 2 wearings is a must! humidity…ehk!
Usually after two days of wearing them – barring any excessive sweating or staining.
and what the hell is a “wear pattern”?
@cprevite I hear some guys like to get their package to imprint a wear pattern in jeans so someone will take the bait.
I don’t really know anything about wear patterns but I only wash my jeans if they’re very obviously stained or smell bad or have stretched out too uncomfortably.
