Your elected officials make a bone-headed decision, what do you do?
Do you unelect them all and cut their budgets so they can’t do a thing? Or do you work to educate them and to support the programs that are crucial for your grand parents?

Phone, email and possibly write them. If that doesn’t get their attention it’s time to remind them their position is temporary.
@SpatzieLover mentioned some things that I do regularly. I have phoned my senators and congresswoman numerous times when something crucial was coming up for a vote. I’ve also sent emails.
Most importantly, I vote in every election.
I highly doubt we can do much as citizens after the voting process. No one has the balls, ability, or even desire to go against corporations, for example. Obama still appointed some of the same people with the ultra-capitalist, pro-deregulation ideologies that were in the Bush administration.

I get politically active.
I would try to educate them but if that didn’t work I would use my voice and tell everyone I knew to vote against them. I have no problem standing up for the things I believe in.
All positions must be unpaid, volunteer positions. The answer is to remove all temptation toward wealth and power.
Tie them up and drop them in Bedford-Sty! Mwahahahahaha!
