my little Maltese must have stepped into something. I just noticed it on her rear paw. Its like a dry piece of poop (sorry tmi) it doest smell but I can’t pick it off. What should I do…... Should I soak her foot in water? But its like working with a child, she won’t let me. Help!

anyone!??????!?
I dont want to hurt her trying to take the gunk out
Soap and water? If you leave it, it should be gone within a few days of just walkin around. but yeah, soap and warm water should do the trick. Its probably not that big of a deal..
If you can’t get your dog to sit still while you clean its foot for 30 seconds you need to decide who the boss is and I don’t mean that in a Tony Danza stylee.
Try the shampoo you use to bathe her. Maybe just fill up your bathtub with a little bit of water have her stand in it while you rub her paw with the soap. If you have someone there with you they could comfort her. If its something sticky on her paw, try peanut butter too.
If the hair is long enough, just cut off the matted area.
Could it be tree sap that has collected dirt? If so, I’d say check this out.
