I am thinking of deleting a couple of my OPs. Do people save their answers generally?

More details
This is in case someone wants to copy and paste all or part of the thoughful researched, (with links) answers that they gave me to an almost identical/similar question/s.
It is a good idea to save those kinds of answers, but do you think most people just do it as a routine?

Hi Flo…please excuse me for not understanding the question. When you say ‘OPs”, do you mean original posts? If so, do you mean on Fluther or on some other site? And I’m really lost when it comes to the details. It might help (me) if there was a hypothetical example or even a specific one. Thanks friend!

Are you talking about deleting questions you’ve asked? If so, we don’t actually allow that. It would removed all the work of the people who answered your question, too.

If you have a very compelling reason for wanting one removed, you can flag it and let us know why you want it removed. We may or may not remove it for you, depending on how helpful the question might be to others and what your reasons are.

As for the last part of your question, I doubt that many people routinely save their answers somewhere off-site.

@Pied_Pfeffer I was thinking removing some of the questions that didn’t get enough answers (not enough interest I guess) or the ones that are too frivilous to take up space. I thought maybe some people compose their questions in ther email account and paste it here.

Yes that is why I asked the question, because I didn’t want people’s answers going to waste. That reminds me, a few people give good, great answers to a question, and then the OP goes to editing (for typo or something else) and then the OPer tries to edit it but it is still not acceptable enough, and it gets removed. So, the answers go too right? I have been meaning to ask this question.

Nah, don’t worry about questions that you’ve posted on Fluther that don’t get the desired results. There was one I asked that I thought would generate discussion, but it was answered in the first response, and everyone else that read it agreed by giving it a GA. Disappointing, but I built a bridge and got over it.

As for crafting questions, it helps me to either jot it down on paper and think through what I am really after as far as responses, or I’ll start typing it out and then step away for a bit and coming back to it. It helps in clarification and catching typos.

Don’t fret on past questions posted that you might consider to be a dud. You never know when it might strike a connection with someone that runs across it. I joined this site based upon a question posted long, long ago. It was on a silly topic, but one that was important to me.

@Pied_Pfeffer thanks it makes sense. I don’t have many that I wanted to remove. I have one question about reverse dictionaries for example, and there is no answer. But the main thing is I don’t want the answers people give to be removed. I’m not asking about a specific question.
A lot of people give jewels for answers and hopefully they save those in case the question gets removed (which I think is rare) by the editing dept. for lack of clarity.

In answer to your last question, yes, if a question gets permanently removed, so do the answers to it. However, mods can still see them, and we’d be more than happy to copy and paste them in a PM to the answerer. People rarely ask for a copy of their answer, but when they do, we’re happy to oblige.

Also, I can’t believe I typed ‘removed’. Grr.

@augustlan Thanks that is good to know. I hope people are/become aware of it.
