Well, of course! Not of future jellies, but of current jellies of recent vintage.
What do I count as? I think I’m still relatively recent.
These will be the old days for some. Whether they will be good or not, only time will tell.
It’s just an opportunity to say hi to those who are here now – everyone gets Meta in their inbox!
Hi guys – lurve ya!
I’m with incendiary_dan, I have no idea if I’m old or new.
It seems to me like fewer new users are actually sticking around. I might be imagining that, though.
@zen Please define good old days…
Some of our favorite people left. I miss pdworkin and redpowelady and others. It isn’t the same, but we habe some new additions who have been great and interesting. Every so often there is a Q that feels very much like old times, it feels good.
Er, hmm I denno. There’s always the idea of cycle, where the good ol days are gone for people who have been here forever, and the same for those who haven’t been here for all that long. I guess.
Despite changes and all, anyone who remains active here for a certain period of time remains because they like it, so there will be good ol days for them at one point, even if something makes them leave permanently.
Nostalgia is fine, but we can’t lament the passing of whatever golden days were to be had; we must keep making them!
Eeeeeew I’m being positive and it feels icky.
Also, sup yall.
@Symbeline Shame on you for being positive. Here take this horde of zombies with you right now! Lol. ( hey, if I finish my horror script, would you check it out? Need to know if it’s any god…)
My 91 year old gentleman friend always says, The good old days and golden days are always happening NOW…
@mazingerz88 Send it my way when you’re ready, I’d love to check it out. :)
And your 91 years old friend is a wise one. :)
Listen:
beyond the heart’s breath
and the lingering soul,
beyond the last bee
dying in the honeysuckle,
beyond the cirrus and the fallstreaks
of tomorrow’s rain –
the sound of things becoming
what they never will again.
I’m missing some jellies too. WTF, Loser, essieness, titsmcgee, pdworkin to name a few. But I’m happy for the newer jellies too. We have to go along with the ebb and flow of things here.
Does anyone have news of either Gary (WTF) or Cak? I keep trying to find some info. No news is very bad news, I fear.
@gailcalled Jon has tried to contact Sherry by email. There have been no response, sadly. :(
@jonsblond: Oh, dear. I’ve tried Gary’s email and a facebook attempt, but also with no luck.
Every day is a good old day. :)
Where do they go when they go? Almost hate to ask but did they die?
@josie In the case of WhattheFluther (ALS) and cak (multiple cancers) that is, sadly, a real possibility.
That is very, very sad. I hope it is not true…
@augustlan CAK hasn’t been on facebook for months.
And her daughter was in a serious auto accident this spring, I believe.
One terrible thing after another. My heart goes out to both their families.
It is a reminder though sad of course. If we are regulars here, we should make sure someone we love knows we would like the community here to know if something happened to us and we weren’t able to say goodbye. I would hope someone would tell the people I have grown very fond of here what happened to me. Rather than leaving you wondering…
@Bellatrix I agree. I have been wondering specifically about Gary and Cak lately, and silently worrying. In this day and age it’s almost necessary to make sure that someone knows to get in contact with your internet groups if something were to happen. I know that I personally have received bad news via social networking sites, that I wouldn’t have ever known about otherwise. I care about my jellies. :\
And Ms @ANef_is_Enuf Happy Birthday… I hope it still is your Birthday. XXXX Let that 5 year old out and play hard lady!
I agree about making provisions for our internet sites if anything happens to us…
