Ladies, do any of you have any good tips for an eye product to reduce dark circles and puffiness?

Asked by Bellatrix (21317points) August 3rd, 2011

I have noticed I have dark circles and a bit more puffiness under my eyes than I used to. Has anyone tried a product to reduce these things that has worked well for them?

For natural remedies, slices of cucumber are supposed to work. Also use natural aloe vera. Very good for skin.

A product I love is freeman’s stress gel. Soooo good.

Just a side note, I get dark circles under my eyes when I take the antibiotic Cipro, so if you recently started a new med, you might want to consider it.

You can buy a gel mask, supposedly wearing the cool mask on your eyes reduces puffiness. Also, excess salt intake can make you puffy.

If you have any other symptoms of possible heart disease, puffy face an eyes can be a sign.

Obviously, make your you are getting plenty of sleep.

The anti puff eye roller by Clinique is one of the better ones I have tried.

Thank you @JLeslie, no I think it is just a sign of getting older sadly. It isn’t like I have suitcases hanging off my face, just noticing a bit more darkness and a touch of puffiness. Probably spend too long in front of a computer! I just want something to wack on before I put my make-up on to see if it helps (probably in truth will only help shrink my bank balance).

Thank you @sarahhhhh and @JessicaRTBH, will have a look at those products.

Lol @filmfann yes, I have heard that and I did some research once into whether it is really effective and the consensus seemed to be no. It doesn’t really work. Have you tried this yourself?

Thanks people for the advice. Appreciated!

For puffiness I find that as sarahhhhh mentioned aloe vera gel is good. I use St. Ives Eye and Face Stress Gel with cucumber and elastin When I wake up with puffy eyes I put some on and in a few minutes it draws out the water and decreases the puffiness. I would swear by it and it’s really cheap. Don’t know if you can get it there in Australia. (it has aloe vera in it but it doesn’t say aloe vera in the name)
For undereye darkness I use Hylexin. It’s expensive but a little goes a long way. My undereye circles are not very severe and I kind of use it as a preventative. Not sure if it really is helping, lol. Maybe I should stop using it and see if there is a difference!

Thanks for that tip @Earthgirl It seems that product has been discontinued so if you can buy it anywhere, grab some. I can’t find it anywhere. There is one 4oz container on offer on ebay but it is unclear how old the product is.

It sounds great and gets great reviews everywhere. Wonder why they discontinued it?
