I graduated in May and am now trying to purchase a car. I really like the Honda CRV but I just don’t know if I should buy a new or used. When I went to look at them a new one was about 4–6,000 more. What are your suggestions. I need something good on gas seeing as I will have a 3–4 hour drove twice a month.

I don’t think I would be averse to buying a used Honda as my SIL has a driveway full of Hondas and a couple are well over 100,000 miles and runs like new.
I have never had a new car, and have had pretty decent luck, especially considering that I have paid less for most of my cars than many kids your age pay for the optional premium stereo package.
Many problems with a car will happen near the beginning and end of it’s life. Getting one a year old will be old enough to have the problems worked out yet new enough to not be worn-out (broken in, not broken down) is actually wiser even when you take the cost out of the equation.
