At what age do your dog's whiskers turn white?
Please indicate breed, sex, age.. and name, if you’d like..
My dog has a white coat and white eyelashes so there’s no way I could tell when he’s “going gray.” Forever young for this dog. =)

My dog is a two and a half year old Great Dane and he is already going grey. It might be because Great Danes have a particularly short (8–9 yrs) life span. Plus, his color is blue, which basically means the whole of him is a very dark grey color, so the area around his muzzle is a lighter grey, which makes him look very old.
My stepdad has a nine year old Golden Retriever who only recently started going grey.
Border Collie, age 12 years. Color black and white…..his name is Mikey.
He began turning gray around his muzzle, at age 10. That’s 70 years old, compared to a human.
You will notice other indications of aging, when your dog begins to slow down in life. He will sleep more and probably develope arthritis, especially in his hip area of his back legs. A vet can help with medication to ease his pain. jp
Gracie is a German Shepherd dog with a black muzzle. She is around 5 years old and is starting to get alittle grey mustache.
She is still cute XD
My roomie has a mixed Weimaraner/Jack Russell named Hazelnut (her coat is that colour). Her muzzle started going grey earlier this year, and she’ll be 8 next month.
@aprilsimnel I’d love to see a picture of what that dog looks like.Is it short??
Rudy (my avatar), his whiskers turned grey at 9.
Rusky is a spitz and he is 14 years now !!! I know that’s damn pretty rare, anyway his whiskers turned white when he was 10.
My dog is a black labrador cross (part collie and maybe a bit of greyhound) but she was a bit grey around the muzzle from as young as about 3 or 4. She’s now 11 and not much greyer than she was then. Her actual whiskers (the sensory kind) are still black.
