Do you ever read the comments in Youtube? I just noticed them - and they are a far cry from Fluther's standards for the most part.

I think it’s what is referred to as the “lowest common denominator”. Reading youtube comments is not good for your health.
Ryan: you must control your anger towards me. It can’t be healthy. I can see the vein in your forehead swelling up.
The question above is the besterest question I’ve ever heard, it made me cry. For a free $100,000,000 go to this link! http://tinyurl.com/y8ufsnp
Great job Paul. Now I don’t have the most offensive comment.
Every YouTube “conversation” ends up as Christians vs. atheists. There should be a Godwin’s Law equivalent for that. I noticed it again when someone posted that wedding entrance dance video here.
I barely even read the ones for the video I posted myself. After a while, I just stopped caring.
It is as with porn: seen one, seen all.
On the YoutTube I’m not so surprised, it’s sort of an anything goes environment, as @tom_g notes “lowest common denominator”.
It does surprise me that comments on sites you might expect to be more focused are often all over the place too, like CNN. There must be just about no moderation on CNN comments.
Much like throwing a firecracker into the monkey house at the zoo…shit’s gonna happen!!
Which reminds me we should arrange another Mod appreciation day.
That’s mild. You should have been on the old wisdm site.
Give Lurve if you hate Justin Bieber.
The great question bar is the size of Justin Bieber’s dick. Thumbs up if you agree.
I’ve read them a few times…it’s mostly a cesspool of retardation.
Some of them I read but most are just spam there.
I’m amazed when I see a thoughtful and reasoned comment on YouTube. And yes sometimes I go looking for them!
I glanced once—that was enough.
