What are some of your favorite inspirational movies?

Asked by jonsblond (44213points) August 6th, 2011

I watched Soul Surfer last night. The true story of a young surfer who lost her arm from a shark attack, then went on to surf again in national competitions. This was such great story for my young daughter and I to watch together. It had me in sad, and happy tears all night.

The documentary Dear Francis is the first one to come to mind. Here is the trailer, but unfortunately, it doesn’t touch on what these two US college students accomplished by educating the Swaziland youth on sex education and STDs. It’s a powerful movie that makes me feel ashamed for whining about the petty things in my easy life.

Finding Forrester. One of Sean Connery’s best roles I think. Rob Brown was very good in it also.

@Joker94 Fuck yeah. It makes no sense and is totally unrealistic, but they’re real people with real feelings. I love that movie to death. And Kim fuckin rocks. :)

@Only138 Aye aye dear. When I die, I hope to go in that movie’s world.

I recently saw the documentary Marwencol. The guy in it is unbelievable. He overcame so much. It’s the most inspirational thing I’ve seen in a long time, I highly recommend it.

As for non-documentary movies. I would have to go with American Beauty and Into the Wild. Hands down. They are life changing.
