When you go to a pool party, do you get into the pool?

Do you even bring your swim suit?
The majority of pool parties I go to the adults don’t go in, especially if the party is during the daytime, and it is a large group of people. They prefer to sit sweating in 100 degrees. Some say they don’t look good in a bathing suit, maybe they want to lose 10 or 40 pounds. Maybe some of the women want to keep their hair and make-up intact. I say pshaw, get in, the water’s fine, get out of the blistering heat.

Of course! What’s the point otherwise?
I do, standing around looking cool isn’t important to me lol.
Note to self, Jelly pool party in the future.
The last few that I’ve been to were work-related. It would have felt odd getting into the pool in a bathing suit, only because I tend to keep my work and personal life separate to a certain extent. Plus, I’m not a fan of swimming pools.
Yeah of course I do, it’s more wet outside in the rain here in England Town.
@Pied_Pfeffer But the host labelled it a pool party? Did anyone get in?
Yup, the kids. I don’t recall the hosts even getting in, as they were busy with other tasks. Oh, and the guy I had a crush on at the time. When I saw him playing with the children, I thought he’d make a great father. We started dating shortly after that, and while the hunch may have been right, he had some deal-breaker issues.
I will get into the pool right after I push you into the pool.
Yes, of course. What self-respecting jelly would stay dry?
Of course and sometimes I wear a suit!
I go to the pool, but not the party. Does that answer your question?
I’m usually the person in the shallow end with a toddler kicking and splashing frantically in each arm. Usually because other adults don’t want to get in.
I’ve never been to a pool party or even heard of one taking place.
If I did go…uhhh yeah I’d so be in that pool. I loooove water.
@RealEyesRealizeRealLies: Last week on the Today show they had a woman who was paralyzed at her batchelorette party (or wedding shower, not sure which) by one of the bridesmaids who pushed her into the pool. I would never push anybody into a pool, for that reason (felt this way before seeing the Today show, not because of it).
To answer the question, I would probably be one who does not want to mess up my hair and makeup. If most people are not going swimming, I would feel self conscious doing so.
Yeah, no pushing, dunking or splashing people on purpose.
I haven’t been to one in a while, but I probably wouldn’t get in. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been on both swim and dive teams; I just don’t want the chlorine on me. I’d still wear a bathing suit though.
I’ve never been to a pool party – at least, not since elementary school. My sister’s wedding shower last month was hosted by her now-sister-in-law, and I was told at the last minute that I could bring a suit and swim if I wanted to, but the only people at the shower that I had met before were my mom and sister, so I wasn’t comfortable with that idea. The little kids were the only ones who swam, anyway.
We don’t have pool parties so much here but I love being in water so I would be the first one in the pool!
I’m sun sensitive so I’ve only gone to nighttime parties and yes, I take my suit and get in the hot tubs usually, sometimes the pool to cool off.
Me? In a swimming pool?
Forget it.
Absolutely. I love pools.
Sadly I haven’t been to a pool party in over twenty years. :^(
I did just go swimming in a pool a couple weeks ago though. :^)
I sunburn very easily. So I will be the one covered from head to toe with a long sleeved blouse and a big broad brimmed hat and wrap around sunglasses, serving hors d’oeuvres and refilling the iced tea glasses and helping with trash detail.
If the party was at night time, I’d still be covered from head to toe. I burn really easily.
