Are the wealthy elite trying to kill off a large portion of the population who refuse to be like them?
I.E. Were the housing debacle, variable mortgage (sub prime loans), stock market failures recently and the one in 2000, Global Financial meltdown of 2008, and the present Global Depression in which we are currently ensconced planned attacks on the less financially able (those who refuse to be or who are unable to be one of the wealthy elite ?

Why would they want to kill off the labor force? Most of the wealthy elite I know really don’t have the skills to manufacture the fancy toys, fix the plumbing, or grow the endive for those spiffy little salads.
Are you Hypocrisy_Central’s liberal alter ego?
OMG…..................it does not make any sense. Completely agree with @JilltheTooth, this world needs everybody it has to pull rank and run its ship or we are all gonna sink and that includes the poor and needy!!
@JilltheTooth After inducing the people to recklessly overpopulate the planet so a to have the labor you speak of, and consumers etc…they would want to because there are too many people…and once they kill off the labor forces, the middle class which has been made into the lower class will be more than happy to do all this work which the wealthy are unable to do for themselves.
@FutureMemory Hypocrisy whom?
Wait. Let me think…
Um.
No.
I don’t think it is a question of the labor force refusing to be like them. It really isn’t a choice one can consciously make. What would happen if everyone was a boss? Can’t theoretically happen. Without people to employ and use who would the bosses be bosses of?
@woodcutter It seems like is a choice, as every thing you do in life is a choice (at least after you are no longer under the rule of your parents).
Or do you believe your life is one of destiny and God is directing your course?
I think you nailed it Donald.
Trump for President!
@Donald_Trump No of course not so i ask, what does like them mean? Keeping in mind that the very word them is straying away from being PC.
No. Those people that caused most of these problems are just greedy and they weren’t smart enough to realize that the gravy train would eventally come to a halt.
Did you just hear my eyes roll?
Lol, no.
@chyna, no, but I’m sure you could hear my spinning around in my head at a velocity approaching the speed of light.
Also, ಠ_ಠ
Yes of course we are @Donald_Trump. And there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
now stop moving and hold still
In the absence any evidence that “a large portion of the population” has been killed off since 2000, the first date you mention, I would have to answer either no, they’re not or maybe, but if they are, they’re doing a damn piss poor job of it.
Nobody look under my azalea bushes…
Bodies are everywhere!
… and of course that makes me want to look under your bushes. like saying don’t think about elephants… just don’t…
Hell, I love rich elite people. I love taking their money in exchange for shit they are too lazy to do or make themselves, or that they don’t have time for. Comeatmebro.jpg
Refuse to be like them? Believe me, who would not want to be well off these days if they could pull it off.
@mazingerz88 who would not want to be well off these days if they could pull it off.
People who are like… fighting the power man… and like, speaking truth to power, man.
@JilltheTooth absolutely. My going rate as a personal assistant is $75 per hour. Back rubs are extra.
PBS is running a retrospective on the protest music of the 60s. Maybe I’d better stop flaunting my elitism. So…ashamed…
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Gotcha. I’ve never been around much people these past twenty years except co-workers who always were in need of dough to basically survive. One of them always says, rich or poor it’s good to have money. : )
@JilltheTooth: I am snuffling into Milo’s neck as I watch and listen, as though it were the first time, Bob Dylan sing Blowin’ in the Wind.
Keep them or should I say us here and low? perhaps
Kill off? hardly
No! Who would they be able to pay minimum wage to if they did??
I refuse to be rich. You can’t make me. No, no, stop that right this minute. No forcing money on people who love being strapped and fretting about bills and wondering how they’re going to get by. It’s just wrong to drag them into wealthy elitism. If they refuse to be rich, you just have to leave them alone.
Actually, there are some very fine people who refuse to use their high IQs to enrich themselves.
Why? It has to do with paying higher and higher taxes which are used to kill fellow humans world-wide.
But I understand many don’t really think this deeply about how their tax dollars are spent.
@Cruiser Minimum wage would be paid the surviving members of the now defunct middle class, who will be grateful for any menial position.
“there are some very fine people who refuse to use their high IQs to enrich themselves.”
Don’t kid yourself. The smart people want to kill the rich people who want to kill the poor people who want to kill the dumb people who want to kill the animals. Got That?!?!?!
Uhmm… last time I checked the street corner in Minneapolis, they were saying the Insurance Companies were the new Death Squads.
I think your question only hits the mark by accident. The first fact to remember is that global population is at its highest right now. We have plenty of people.
We do have psychotic people, and groups of psychotic people running the show. By psychotic, I mean they are not troubled by others’ suffering, and their wealth and power are prioritized over the suffering of others. Maybe they are evil, but more likely they don’t experience similar feelings of compassion and/or they are indoctrinated into the ethics and authority of mutant capitalism (see Confessions of an Economic Hitman). They aren’t out to kill “us” per se, but they are out to excavate the ground beneath our feet if it is profitable to do so.
If you believe that “spreading democracy” in the Middle East is code for making the world safe for multi-national corporations and the cabal of financiers behind central banks, then there’s some truth to the idea that “they” are killing off a chunk of the population that “refuses” to be co-opted, but it’s mostly incidental to taking control. Whoever is still around and who wants to become a good consumer (or whatever) will have that opportunity. So yeah, in a way they’re out to kill those who refuse to be like them or subscribe (in subservience) to their ideology. Those who don’t used to be called savages, but now they’re called terrorists.
I think all the financial turmoil you cite other than simply being scams for elite interests to make money are also a more or less coordinated effort to suck money out of the system in preparation for investment in a new wave of civilizing structure. The scale of the financial turmoil may be an indicator of how consolidated these interests have become in their power.
