What are some good websites for ordering high quality corsets?
I have just gotten back from GenCon. Generally, there are lots of costumed folks at GenCon and one of the most popular costume trends among women is wearing corsets. Usually, women lace them up really tight so I have been turned off by the idea of wearing one. However, I tried one on at GenCon there were no fewer than six vendors selling them and I instructed the woman who laced me up to lace it up “loosely” that is to say, I only had her take one or two inches off my waist, not four or five. It was surprisingly comfortable so I bought a really pretty one and learned how to lace it up the way I like it.
So, now, I’m looking for websites to buy corsets. I’ve found a few but they generally have ambiguous sizing or are way expensive. So, can anyone suggest a good corset website for me?

I’m guessing that most high end bridal shops sell them (sorry I don’t have any specific company names) and there are also lots of costume shops in Los Angeles and New York that might have them.
sorry not much help
Oh shit! I’ve seen that store but I never gave it much thought. Her prices are really good!
Edit to add: Bonus! If you’re ordering from her, Simone, then I’m guessing she’s cruelty free. :)
@KatawaGrey Don’t know. I don’t check every purchase of mine in that way. Do you?
I have a really nice one that my husband ordered from Absolute Corsets. I really like it. They are a bit on the expensive side, but they are very durable (at least from my experience they are). I plan to get another one or two from them once I lose the weight from having my son.
If you don’t want to pay a lot this site has some very inexpensive corsets. They are good quality for the money. They have real busks (those loop closure fronts) and lace up for adjustability. The steel boned corsets are more expensive but I think most people would be happy with the fashion corsets with nylon boning. They are fine if you don’t want to tight lace for waist training.

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard As much as I loved the corsets on the link you provided, there are huge problems with people getting their products. Their FB page is full of unhappy customers. Just wanted to let you know.
Oh my…some of the corsets found on @Seaofclouds link are quite attractive.
@Earthgirl: Even their steel-boned corsets are very affordable. This is the corset I picked up at GenCon. I do prefer the steel-boned ones just because they are sturdier and while I do not want to lose multiple inches, I do like a little bit of shape.
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard: So that’s what I should wear if I want to be sexy whilst I fight the zombie apocalypse. The zombies won’t know what hit them.
I second Absolute Corsets. Their quality is pretty good and right now, it looks like they’re offering a special on some of their ready to wear stuff. If you appreciate goth aesthetic, you might want to check out Heavy Red as well.
I also agree with @Simone_De_Beauvoir and @cazzie that Etsy is a fantastic place to find them. Personally, I like this shop (a bit spendy) and this one (which is much cheaper)
@Simone_De_Beauvoir I’ve just bookmarked your link. Thank you :)
So, Stumbleupon is using this new search feature where you can search for keywords. I discovered it no more than five minutes ago and I am searching for corset websites and finding some amazing shit, but please keep the suggestions coming. I especially love the Etsy shops, specifically the affordable ones. ;) Thanks guys!
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard I agree. I was this close to ordering one of those beautiful creations. Then I stumbled across their FB page and was terribly disappointed :(
I don’t use Etsy much – are the corsets on Etsy mostly handmade or “off the rack?”
