Why does my beagle act that way?
Why does sometimes my Beagle (BB) act like a lap dog? She is ing it right now. I mean she is like 11, but when i’m at the computer she whimmpers until I put her on my lap sometimes. It’s really funny though because she is full grown and so I have to have my legs kinda spread because she is big. lol. But why?

because you’ve done it for 11 years straight, so shes used to it and thinks its normal. I just got a puppy, she’s 10 weeks old and I’m trying to not let her get used to sleeping on my bed, so I’ll put her in her dog bed at night. She cries, but ive got to ignore it because I dont want her to get spoiled and used to sleeping in my bed.
no she started doing it like 2 years ago
oh, I dont know then, haha. She’s getting old.. Maybe she needs more attention? My other dog is old….15. He seems to want more attention as he gets older.
lol. she is quite the cuddler
its getting old zack.
Yeah, mrs: your BB just wants more attention then! :)
lol. oh i have something to show you. but i’ll pm it to you just so zack doesn’t see it
It is pretty clear who has trained whom in this pack.
She is probably just seeking comfort and affection in her old age. she probably feels better when she is close to you. I have a little border terrier, and she has started doing the same thing since I have been home on disability. Wherever I am, she has to be right on top of me. I am almost ready to go back to work, so I am starting to “wean” her of this. I don’t want her to whine and howl when I leave for the day and disturb the neighbors.
Altho I liked your beagle poem very much, she may feel it was not romantic enough.
romantic? why do i need romance? the poem is supposed to be about an animal?
Maybe you don’t need romance, but BB might.
lol she is a dog. she doesn’t need romance…just love. Very different
BB might have a very different opinion :-)
Altho as I look back at your question, I see that BB would be post-menopausal if she were not fixed. So you are right. Love it is. “All you need is….”.
