How should Raymond respond to this?

Asked by WestRiverrat (20132points) August 10th, 2011

Denied.

Man is denied medicaid coverage for breast cancer, based largely on his gender.

Mind you these are the same people that will determine which claims are valid or not under the HCR act.

Should this man be able to sue the government for discrimination?

Sounds like he has his bases covered.

:-O Sue for discrimination and coverage! That’s not right.

“Mr. Johnson, men don’t get breast cancer.”

“OK, then what kind of cancer is it?”

”...Well…uhhhhhh.”

It is totally wrong that he was denied coverage.

What is missing from this story is why he is uninsured? He had a construction job which usually pays decent money and IMO should have been able to afford insurance and that being the case, why should we now have to pick up his tab?

A person has cancer and if we don’t help it will kill him, so help him. Why should there be any requirement for cancer treatement other than having cancer, I just don’t get it.

This Raymond guy should have a word with his lawyers, have them get the doctors to cut the cancer out of him after it kills him, and mail a chunk to the personal address of whoever typed up the rules, and another couple of chunks to some people in power.

I don’t live in the USA, I get to enjoy “free” health care here in Spain, and I know opinions are a little different in the USA, but I think you guys can’t afford to let this happen. The government is putting a price on human life by doing this.

Sure he can sue. But if he does, ALL the proceeds should go to the people who helped him and the hospital performing the treatments.

@worriedguy ^Agree. Also, he should get the treatments no matter what.
