Does anyone here have access to the October 1993 issue of Esquire magazine?

Asked by Jeruba (56107points) August 11th, 2011

I’m interested in verifying the content of the Tom Robbins article linked here.

I believe it contains an error in transcription, and I’d like to be sure by checking the original.

I have contacted the owner of the website on which it was posted, and he said that he did not make the transcription himself but reposted the essay from elsewhere on the Web.

No but have you tried to contact the publisher? Or how about your local library? Local city library?

Used to be damn, I’m old that many periodicals were bound in book format from year to year and larger city libraries had those…have you called a “larger city library” near you?

I’ve gone to the magazine’s website and looked for an archive, but it doesn’t appear to go back that far.

For some reason I didn’t think Esquire would be a keeper as far as the library is concerned. Apparently it’s available on microfiche if I go to the main city library. But if anyone here has a collection (or ready access to one), it would be nice to save a trip for the sake of a single word.

@Jeruba….Here’s a long shot. I found one on Ebay: link Perhaps you can email them and ask them to look up this word for you? They might do this for you. (The magazine is for sale, but you may not want to purchase it. Perhaps you can send them something simply to look this up?) Just a thought.
