Fran Drescher (although she doesn’t do standup, she’s one of the funniest and savviest ladies I’ve ever seen. She’s kind of like a modern day Lucille Ball, only sexier!)
Ellen DeGeneres. She talks about every day stuff in a hilarious, self effacing manner.
Wandy Sykes. Every day stuff, but she notices some of the nastier and more guy oriented stuff, but from a female perspective.
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. She notices some of the odder stuff that you never even knew that you were thinking about until she brought it to your attention.
Chelsea Handler. Talks about somewhat raunchy, or outrageous or just plain weird sh*t in a very low key manner.
Margaret Cho. Talks about some really, really naughty sexual stuff that we all think about, but don’t want to mention in public, along with a lot of really funny melting pot culture types of subjects.
Kaley Cuoco (who plays Penny on The Big Bang Theory) is able to hold her own with a bunch of hilarious nerds, whist schooling them in the art of romance and boy/girl relationships, and using her past, humiliating relationships with douche bags as examples.
Roseanne Barr. She talks about regular every day stuff like going to the bathroom and dealing with your annoying inlaws and your ungrateful kids, whilst retaining he salt of the earth, blue collar roots (sometimes in low class, inappropriate or vulgar, but always funny ways, with a great heart).
Jenna Elfman. Very self effacing, but with wisdom beyond our men.
Conchata Ferrell (who plays Berta, the housekeeper on 2 and Half Men) is the Queen of one liners and zingers, especially how they apply to selfish, self absorbed, dumb, douchey, rich beyond their deserving dudes and their skid-marked, under-panted, potentially gay brothers, and dim-witted, oportunistic nephews.
Cloris Leachman She is nothing if not versatile. Some of her performances on the Mary Tyler Moor Show and classic left handed compliment humor and in the movie Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety, she was simply the epitome of the older, sexually charged matron, in the most hilarious Germanic manner as both Frau Drucher and Nurse Ratchett.
Madelaine Khan. Unconventional, super-sexy, ironic and varied as the nagging Bride of Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein, and Lily Von Shtupp a semi-charicature of Hedy Lamarr and Greta Garbo, and a sexually charged, advantage-taking Southern “lady” in Paper Moon
Bea Arthur From Maude to the Golden Girls, Bea Arthur was the biting, feminist, sweetheart, understanding, strong, East Coast gal who could be swooned and swept off her feet in one minute and giving your your due in the next minute. She was the Queen of the “glaring look.”
