Mine would have to be Puzzle by Biffy Clyro (not a single bad track) but as I’m always interested in expanding my music collection what’s your absolute all time favourite album?
Nevermind by Nirvana is close second.

Pink Floyd-The Dark Side of the Moon.
Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys.
Aenima and Lateralus by Tool.
Candyass by Orgy was the soundtrack of my life in 8th grade. They were the first band I was ever obsessed with. I had a shrine of their pictures on my bedroom wall. I think my parents were a bit horrified. They didn’t want me to say the word “Orgy” out loud. Although, I don’t listen to them much anymore, I would still consider it to be one of my all time favorite albums.
More recently, Prowler in the Yard by Pig Destroyer. I can’t count how many times I’ve listened to it all the way through, reading along with the lyrics. It captivates me.
For all time classic, Dark Side. It’s a harder question than it used to be, though; I don’t buy albums anymore. I’ve probably got close to a thousand cds, and I haven’t listen to a single one in years. Between the iPod, Pandora, and satellite radio, I don’t even think of music in the same way anymore. The “album” is almost an anachronism, now.
Black Flag Damaged (1981, Hardcore Punk)
The Art of Drowning by AFI
Lordy. Cloud Cult Feel Good Ghosts, Janelle Monae Archandroid, Pixies Surfer Rosa, Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, TV on the Radio Dear Science. I really cannot pick one above the others, sorry . . .
AC/DC – Let There Be Rock
Tallahassee by the Mountain Goats
Propagandhi – Less Talk, More Rock
Counting Crows “August and Everything After”
Dire Straights, the first one.
@Jude Mine too. Really, every song on that album is great. I can’t think of many albums like that.
@downtide I love that album! It’s definitely in my top 3.
Another vote for Dark Side of the Moon.
Love Blonde on Blonde & I’m Your Man too!
Navigator, by Funker Vogt.
Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd
August and Everything After, Counting Crowes
Celtic New Year, Van Morrison
Garbage, Garbage
Devil Without a Cause, Kid Rock
Jimi Hendrix- Are You Experienced?
Celtic New Year is actually on Magic Time, by Van Morrison oops… I love that song and Gypsy In My Soul from the album, great album altogether though.
Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
Hellbilly Deluxe, Rob Zombie
Moondance Van Morrison the anthem of my youth
Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here: because I absolutely love the song, ’‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’’. The link is to part 1 of the full 9-part version. It’s Rick Wakeman’s tribute to Sid Barrett, one of the founding members of the band who, after such a brilliant creative start, went insane and sat staring vacantly in a mental institution, and to the loss of his talent.
Seventh Sojourn by The Moody Blues
A Very Fine Love – Dusty Springfield
all My Chemical Romance albums.
And——> Bleach by Nirvana, Razorblade Romance by HIM, Fear Of The Dark by Iron Maiden, Dr. Feelgood by Mötley Crüe. And some more.
@efritz: ”...Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea…”
Excellent choice! One of my favorites. It’s nearly perfect (unlike Surfer Rosa’s supernatural perfection).
David Gilmour’s first solo album titled, “David Gilmour”
@efritz and @tom_g I love that album. It probably has my favorite album art of any record too.
