All of the above…and then some! I’d give you details but I might be accused of being braggadocios!

I’ve had a really long weekend so I’m going to take this opportunity to just ramble about it a bit.
I had plans to go to Disney world on Sunday morning at about 5am, stay the night at a hotel, and drive back the next day. The night before we found that the brake lights in the car seemed to have shorted out. No mechanic was open at that time, and the one that was about to close said they wouldn’t be able to fix it until the next afternoon. We were going to rent a car, but my friend who would be driving us up is 19, and it’s really difficult to find a rental service in Florida that will rent to anyone that age. The one we did find was way over our trip budget. Her mother offered her car, but there was a nail in her tire.
The brake lights were fixed by the afternoon of the next day, and we were able to get another night reserved at the hotel, so we drove up as soon as we got the car back.
Within half an hour of driving to Orlando our car hydroplaned, spun a few times on the highway, and stopped literally within inches of hitting the barrier on the side of the road. It had hardly been raining – we pulled off and parked whenever it started to storm in earnest – but it seems that there was a dangerous spot in the road, because the SUV behind us and at least two other cars also hydroplaned in the same exact spot. The SUV spun off the road as well, but unfortunately also flipped over (the entire family inside seemed to escape unharmed, luckily!). It was really traumatizing, but the car was unaffected and after awhile we continued the trip and made it there in surprisingly good time.
All was well in Disney with the exception of the hot weather which actually made it difficult to even appreciate the fact that we weren’t harmed on the way there. I bought new Mickey ears to make up for it though.
So, an interesting week at the very least. I start a new semester tomorrow and I’m hoping my luck carries over.
The month has been okay. I dyed my hair pink, and applied to Barnes & Noble, got a spot in a class I’d really been wanting (Science Fiction Literature). The year? I guess it’s best not to dwell. It could have been worse.
Really up and down and all over the place but I am working hard at making things better.
My day’s okay. I need to get out of Fluther soon and attend to some cleaning. ;0)
As for my week, month & year: We’re attempting to live in the present. We have had to reflect on the past to make wiser decisions for our future.
Not too bad a day. Week’s okay, so was the month. Can’t complain. So far, the year could have been worse. Last year though, was very bad. I’m liking this one better.
Yes to all. I’m happy to be here to experience the good or bad of everyday.
