Who was your music idol when you were a teenager?
I was talking to one of our younger jellies and learned that they had no idea who Marc Bolan was, so I thought it would be a good idea if we all share one or two of our music favourites from our teens.
Post a link to a YouTube video showing them in their glory. I hope the younger jellies will educate us about some of their favourite musicians too.
This is Marc Bolan and T-Rex. Link

Robert Smith from The Cure. sorry, can’t link a video at the moment
I don’t know if many people will agree with me on this, but the band My Chemical Romance is pretty awesome.
Share a link to something they have done that you love if you can. Your favourite track or a performance that sums up why they/he is brilliant.
Haven’t you heard of T Rex @FutureMemory? They are from the 1970s.
@Rebel Frankie Goes to Hollywood, brilliant.
Haven’t heard any Yazoo for ages!
Which is your favourite My Chemical Romance clip @laineybug?
“Idol”....that is the operative word here, right? I’ll have to say as a teenager, this was my musical idol (and she was/is a genius): link
For my “crush” idols:
Ah, Macca….who else? link (Thumpety-thump to this day, I have to admit.)

Two of them in one fell (and Bonne Belle lip smacking swoop)

Jade Puget from AFI was the reason I started playing electric guitar. His songs were the first I ever learned.
Glenn Danzig of the Misfits inspired me to start my first band.
David Byrne of the Talking Heads inspired me to stop making sense.
Robert Smith is God.
Morrissey, of the Smiths, comes in 5th place.
SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!
I still like those girls.

Growing up, I liked Nik Kershaw, a little known but very talented Scottish singer/songwriter of the 1980s. I tried to imitate his hairdo and dress like him. Lol. I don’t even think most people even heard of him.
