Jack Layton: 1950 - 2011. Sad day, today. Canadians, your thoughts on the NDP leader?

I asked my mother and its the same, it jsut feels wierd, I didnt pay attention to polotics or anything, and totally didnt see this coming.

I am happy to see such an outpouring of emotion on Facebook today. A lot of people are using his photos as profile pics, and quoting his last letter to Canadians in their status updates. He was a brave and good man. He will be greatly missed.

I don’t really follow politics but most of my friends liked him, and I must say the guy seemed very nice.

It made me quite sad. He was a wonderful man who accomplished so much. My heart is with his family.

I’m late, I know, but I’m still saddened by the death of Mr. Layton. He did some wonderful things in his lifetime, and was one of the very few trustworthy politicians in my lifetime. It’s a great loss for us, and I hope that the NDP is able to continue to flourish thanks to his influence and despite his absence.
