I have a bump on my shaft, and it seems like a wart. I haven’t had sex yet. I need help.

Two ways.
One. Google genital warts and compare the pics to what you got.
Two. Go to your doc and let him decide.
Of the two I would suggest that second is the better but I realise it’s a tough subject to bring up.
Doctors are generally very matter-of-fact and unflappable about almost any such condition.
I recommend asking your doctor.
Do you have any warts on your hands? (I don’t care the answer, but you could check yourself. Warts start small and easily unnoticed, and spread by contact.)
@Zaku I don’t have any warts on my hands.
So here are a few things it could be that cause bumps but are not sexually transmitted Hirsuties coronae glandis (Wiki link but probably NSFW due to photo) Fordyce’s spots (‘nother wiki link with photo but less obvious than the last one).
Still best get it checked by the doc though.
Genital warts can only be spread through such skin-to-skin contact as occurs during oral, vaginal, manual, or anal sex.
If you haven’t had any of these, you probably don’t have genital warts. If you have had any of these, go to the doctor!
Genital warts are almost always contracted by having sexual intercourse with an infected partner. They are not the same as a standard wart that grows on other body parts. Take @Lightlyseared‘s advice and read up on them and see a doctor if there is any remote change in growth or spreading.
There are two areas of our skin that do not sweat: lips and pubic areas. Because of this inability, the pores are sometimes susceptible to getting clogged from the glands’ secretions and do not clear. The result is white or pink bumps. If it is a single bump, it could just be a cyst. They typically cause no problem and go away on their own.
Don’t be embarrassed about it. Your hands can transmit genital warts also. The doc could care less. If you have one, he/she will freeze it off with a cold spray.
If it doesn’t go away in a week, go to the doctor. Does it hurt? Warts don’t hurt usually. A pimple would. Anyway, it isn’t a big deal probably, the doctor will take care of it 1,2,3. You can go to the dermatologist or maybe your regular doctor. Don’t stress. It’s good you noticed.
@plethora Freeze with cold spray? I think the male collective just crossed their legs and winced.
I wouldn’t recommend depending on internet pictures too much because, for some reason, pictures online along with the text can make things sound worse than they are. Also pictures of warts, for some reason, don’t look like the actual warts. GO see a doctor, don’t think about the cold spray (chances are it won’t happen) and more likely he will tell you it’s something benign because you haven’t been sexually active.
The cold spray is no big deal. It doesn’t hurt.
@JLeslie agreed, it sounds worse than it feels. It just feels, for lack of a better word, cold. Think the kind of cold your hands get when you go out in cold weather where you lose feeling, but it hasn’t started hurting, only over a much smaller area. The doctor would also slow down if it started hurting.
@linguaphile Without getting terribly personal here, let me assure you that the male collective would find the cold spray kind of kinky….under other circumstances, of course
Can you show your dad and see what he thinks? Had my mom feel my boobs when I was 14 during a scary time, and I was so glad I told her my concern.
It feels like a pimple. Thanks guys :)
