Would you prefer to stay home from work in the winter or the summer?

Asked by smilingheart1 (6439points) August 24th, 2011

Summer can be very hot and one wants to languish and winter can be very nasty for commuting. If you are or WERE in the workforce,
which is/was easier for you and why? Love to have your comments.

Being stuck in snow, or having to turn on the AC…..What do you think lol?

I’d take winter off, no getting up on freezing cold rainy, snowy, mornings and coming and going in the dark. Bah!

Summer because there is just more to do. You aren’t ’‘trapped inside’’ which would be the case where I’m from. Plus being forced to get out of the house in Winter could be preventative of seasonal depression.

I like to den up in the winter, but I would not miss work.

I hate communting in the winter but I also hate missing nice warm days (what few we have) being cooped up in the office. So I think what I’d really like is to work from home, in the winter.

As much as I love winter I would choose Summer. I love working on my garden, boating and relaxing in my hammock reading a good book.

I’d prefer to stay home from work in the winter. Sometimes we get that sideways rain (rain with wind) and it’s absolutely terrible to walk in. I don’t have the good fortune of parking very near my building.

I’d rather stay home in the winter, when it’s so painfully cold and dark in the morning. The ride to work can be treacherous. I like to relax and watch movies in the winter.

In the summer, I go to work and take advantage of the free AC!

I would prefer to stay home in the winter if I worked. I love watching wintertime but not being out in it if I don’t have to.

Driving to work in the winter can get treacherous. Sometimes I’ve wished I could curl up with hot chocolate and the cat and watch the snow fall instead of braving the elements. So winter is my choice.

Preferably both (lol), but if I had to choose, I’d rather stay home in winter, because the weather really sucks in winter where I live. Driving’s a headache and the days are really short. When you wake up and go to work in the mornings, it’s pitch dark outside, and when you leave work and go home, it’s pitch dark too. And the temperature usually averages minus 25 F. You don’t even want to get out of bed in winter, let alone go to work!
