P.S. I Love You.
Are you talking about movies in the English language or movies made over in England?
It doesn’t matter really :)
@KateTheGreat Do you have other recommendations, I already saw that movie, Thanx :)
Some British romance movies: Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Emma, Four Weddings & a Funeral, Love Actually, Bridget Jones . These are all fairly recent. One of my favorites is Bend It Like Beckham.
Wuthering Heights….Oh Heeeeeeeeeeeeeathcliff! ;)
Casablanca
Children of a Lesser God
Legends Of The Fall
Runaway Bride
The Wedding Planner
Gone With The Wind is my wifes favorite. I think it’s overrated.
I also like Out Of Sight with George Clooney and J.Lo.
@filmfann I beg to differ with your expertise but none of those are English.
Notting HIll
Four Weddings and a Funeral
The English Patient
Emma
Brief Encounter
I Know Where I’m Going
I concur with the examples given by Pied & “the penguin”.......nothing more to say here.
Love Actually
Notting Hill
Emma
Sense and Sensibility
Pride and Prejudice
I just need to say that if you want to see Pride and Prejudice , get a hold of the BBC 6 part version, not the one with Keira Knightly, which was crap IMHO and not true to the tone of the book at all.
Gone with the wind.
Wild Orchid.
Come september.
Truly Madly Deeply ( with Alan Rickman – 1990 )
Sliding Doors. At least I think there was a happy ending.
First I want you to define what you understand by “happy endings”. I’m not referring to porn here but I merely want to know what sort of happy endings you like. Because it can be a happy ending even if they don’t end up together.
Two movies I liked and nobody mentioned till now are:
My Sassy girl
See Jane date
My favorite movie, Firelight. It stars Sophie Marceau (my favorite actress). Don’t skip this one.
@janbb Refering to English films: @KateTheGreat said “Are you talking about movies in the English language or movies made over in England?”
@jessyamr responded: “It doesn’t matter really :)”
@filmfann I stand corrected and apologize. Sorry.
(Note to self: Read the fine print.)
