If you believe you had discovered a mother’s not so glamorous past, would you ignore it, or would you inquire?
If you purchased a box of old LPs, comic books, and VHS tapes at a garage sale, and upon inspection after you returned home, notice one of the VHS tapes was rated XXX. One of the female stars on the jacket looked like mother of a young man you know, in the mother’s younger days. Would you inquire, show them the jacket, not the video, or just ignore it?

I would simply ask my mom about it. She would honestly answer. We have a good relationship that way.
Honestly, it’s none of my business. It might not be the mother. If it is, it’s none of my business what she did in the past.
Would I tell my young friend that I suspected their mother was in a porn movie? Of course not. Don’t be silly.
I actually sat here for a good 5 seconds trying to figure out wtf unflattering pass meant.
Auggie, if you’d like to create a volunteer position on Fluther for proof reading Hypo’s questions before they’re allowed to post, I would be happy to do it. Let me know.
If that was my mother,I wouldn’t have asked her.If she wanted me to know she would have told me.
That would be taco, burrito business, nachos.
I would chuckle to myself and then destroy the video.
What could pursuing the matter possibly accomplish?
I guess at best it could give you some sort of perceived power over the alleged starlet (assuming, of course it was actually her). In any case it is sure to cause a boatload of resentment towards you from both the women and young man for not having the good taste and discretion to let sleeping dogs lay.
If it was that far in the past, why should I care? It seems like the best thing I could do would be to keep my mouth shut about it and not allow it to affect my opinion of my friend’s mother.
