Can a superdead iPod be revived?

Asked by sliceswiththings (11723points) September 1st, 2011

My ipod was plugged into an ipod stereo player thing at work when the hurricane hit and we lost power. It went through several power outages and on-ages, and now it won’t respond to buttons, players, or chargers. I assume it’s just fried inside. Any hope? It’s a little Nano from ‘07.

Most devices have a reset function designed to bring them back from the dead.

In the case of my iPod nano, holding down the “menu” button for 5 seconds at the same time you are holding down the button in the middle of the navigation wheel causes a full reboot.

Oh, damn, I tried that but didn’t hold long enough before. Looks good.

So, is it working now?
