How long can you go without sleep before you start feeling out of sorts?

This goes beyond the sore muscles and heavy eyes, which are more obvious.
I realized recently that there’s quite a difference between Well Rested Nullo and Three Days Of Bad Sleep Nullo: weaker cognitive skills, reduced reaction time, poorer judgment, less patience, and so on. Trying to find a threshold.

The past 2 weeks I’ve been getting up at 6 or 7, working for 12 hours, coming back to a hotel room, doing accounting and trying to have just a tiny bit of a life outside of selling posters….usually go to bed around 10 or 11. And repeat. Every day. So, lately, every day I’ve been feeling like I got drunk at night, went to bed, and woke up still slightly drunk. I’m just off. The pleasant part is that I’m laughing at everything and really chatty, but I’m actually just delirious.
I’ve gone about 45 hours before I started hallucinating—this was back when I was 28 years old. Last year I went a few 36 hour stretches to finish projects for work and don’t recover as quickly as I used to… aiee…
The longest I’ve gone without sleep is about 2.5 days, but I’ll start feeling sick from lack of sleep after the first 24 hours or so.
It depends on what else is going on. The weather, if there is any physical activity, if my mind is engaged in something, etc etc. If, for example, I have to sit in one place for 24 hours straight and do next to nothing, I will probably be down for the count after about 19 hours. If I’m up and about and doing something that keeps my mind and body going I can last for about 72 hours.
I’ve gone far longer without sleep, 5 days is the longest that I remember, but I would say 2 days with no sleep I start to get really loopy. 24–30 hours is nothing, I do it on a regular, probably weekly, basis.
I get dizzy when I don’t get my sleep, about one night without. :(
I lose track of all tine when I’m like that but it gets pretty shitti after a full 12 hours or more, maybe 14
72 hours+ – mind that you will feel a bit off. Almost like an altered state of consciousness. Be very error-prone. But if all you do is partying, you’ll be ok.
Said test was performed while repeating the following:
Swimming from 8 to 4 (including mini naps tanning), going for coffee/hanging out till 11pm, going out from 12 to 8 am (then having breakfast). Coming home, changing and all over again :)
Couple of days, apparently.
Whoa total brain fart, yeah,24 hours, not 12, then again i cant keep track of time like that but i know over 24 hours
