Can anyone here speak to the experience of being a foster parent?

Its hard on the whole family at times. My Mom did it for a while and the kids she had would bite us, smack us, spit on Her an my Dad then cry cause they had to sit in the corner. The one thing my Parents complained about is how hard it was to get licensed to be a foster parent. It took like 3 Months. But it does take patience from the whole family and understanding.
