I would like to set-up a jelly gathering in NYC for Spring of 2012. Tinyfaery and myself have talked about going. I asked jann (penguin lady) and she said that she would like to meet up. Anyone else? I will be coming in from Ontario, Canada and tiny will be coming in from California. I am thinking a 4 day weekend/staying in the big city.

I wish I could afford to :(
If I win the lottery or come up with an other way to get some money, I would really consider to cross the pond.
So I guess that is a chance of 1 in 3.000.000?
Or in my logic: 1 in 2.
I’m definitely down for that!
Don’t mark me down as a definite anything, but it’s a possibility.
I’m not too far from NY in the spring. I spend half the week in New Fairfield, CT for work. I might be able to do a day.
Does that mean we are not getting together this fall still?
I would be up for spring 2012 either way.
I’m not far away. It depends on dates and times and availability and stuff like that.
I know NYC is a happenin’ place and Washington is our nation’s capital, but there’s something to be said for Philly. That would be easier for me. Maybe one day.
We’ll be around. And we’ll bring the kids.
When?? I have a slew of customers on Long Island I could make a detour from.
And who knows? Maybe those of us who rub each other the wrong way on Fluther might find that we’re all pretty decent and likable people…
Or not. And maybe we’ll witness a jelly throw down. This is where I deleted the part that showed my enthusiasm.
If there is a throw-down, then I have dibs on the bottom!
As long as I’m not on my Spring break and away visiting a son, I will come in for a day or two.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir – I bet you’re likable, too :-) We both have our personas that we present online (you the militant feminist, and me the sex pervert). I bet if we met in public as random strangers, we’d have no clue who we each are on Fluther and could become friends.
@HungryGuy Hm…actually I am not a militant feminist…I’m a 3rd waver which opposes radical feminism…you can look it up, actually…and I’m a huge pervert so there it is.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir – I agree with the principles of Third Wave feminism: allowing each person to define what feminism means to him/her-self, and to choose his/her own lifestyle. See? We’d get along just ducky :-)
Yea, I’m the militant one around here. :P
@incendiary_dan – I bet we’d get along pretty well too if we didn’t know who each other was on Fluther. We’d probably spend hours talking about how to use technology (like home fusion generators) to solve our environmental problems and global warming crisis.
Eh, I’m practically a Luddite. Better just to talk about bacon.
I’m down. I live in CT and the chances are pretty good that I will still live in CT then.
Whoa really? I’m up for that. You guys got a location in New York yet? Imma keep my eyes peeled for details.
If I could, I’d love too..but I doubt I’d be able to..
I will be there if it does not conflict with anything else. April and May tend to be busy months for me.
I’d like to attend. How are you planning to let those who are interested know know the location and times and location?
@ETpro: Are you feeling all right?
I think he’s drunk! Gotta see that at the gathering. :D
Maybe…
I am always in NY for something. I’ll probably be around.
@HungryGuy Simone’s personality doesn’t translate very well on Fluther. Meaning, she is so much more likable on the phone than she is on the site. She’s very very sweet and funny in real life. I would describe her as having a magnetic personality, in fact.
I would so like to go to this…damn. Very slim chance tho, as I’m poor as fuck and have some pretty heavy responsibilities that are virtually impossible to escape.
@KatawaGrey Ha! Sorry about that. The pinched nerve in my neck was acting up tonight and I took two oxycodone. Maybe it hit so strong because I got very little sleep last night, but wow1 I’m floating in and out here. It’s tough to concentrate, but the pain is gone and the mellow high is quite nice.
I would love to do this! It’ll depend on money/time, though.
Not a fan of the big city, plus next spring break Jon and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary. We need to save our money for that. (I think we may want a little privacy too, if you know what I mean. ;)
If anyone wants to plan a Midwest gathering at some point we’d be down for that. :D
Twen-ty years?? You look so young….:-)
Is that twenty years married or twenty years together? If I may ask.
@rebbel 21 yrs together, 20 yrs married this coming April. we were 20 when we met =)
I’d love to, if I had the money. :(
@Jude How about putting some dates out there?
I’m only 4 hours away from NYC but meeting you sweet jellies would deviate me from my whoring there, so I don’t know. Lol. : )
I’ll go if @Symbeline is going.
It’s not that you guys are not interesting, I just like to talk to someone who shares common interests to get me talking. I just don’t talk a lot. Prepare for long periods of awkward silence
I’m like that too though. XD
Give me a bit to come up with the deets.
Deet is a chemical in bug spray. Seems hardly appropriate for a jelly meet. ;-P
@wundayatta You know, I almost made a very similar comment, but then thought better of it.
@incendiary_dan I never won a prize for good judgment or sensitivity. But I think it’s time for you to get one.
I’d be down for this. I live on Long Island, so I’d only be a hop, skip and a jump away!
Sadly, due to a lack of cash, I won’t be going. You all should carry on with it, though.
@Jude – Start saving now, and you’ll be able to come :-)
Can you switch the location to Golden Gate Park? hee hee hee
West coasters could hold their own (drinks). They’d probably keep a lot of tables from getting stained if they did.
