When is AT&T 3G coming to my area?

If you can wait that long, I’d wait until the new iPhone is announced and in the months following. Last year, after the iPhone was announced AT&T blanketed the local newspapers with ads touting $125 million in cell tower upgrades throughout NM. I would expect that they’ll do something similar with the new iPhone.

To answer your question more directly, cell phone and gadget blogs are probably a much better source of information than customer service or store reps. Generally, those people know nothing.
