Hmm…I love Penny Lane, and – oh, wait, only one? Dang…
That’s like picking my favorite body part, it’s impossible! But if I had to pick, I’d probably say that “Across the Universe” and “A Day in the Life” are pretty high on the list.
Oh man, can I amend my answer to A Day in the Life? Thanks @Joker94
“You Never Give Me Your Money”
This like eating just piece of popcorn and stopping.
I, like Mariah, like Penny Lane, but I also like Got To Get You Into My Life.
Not a Lennon/McCartney composition, but by George Harrison—- “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.
There is no such thing as an all time Beatles song, they are all great! (In my book at least.) I can’t pick one for all time. However, recently Hey Bulldog has been at the top of the long long list.
I cant pick! this is so hard! Nope not possible….
Here, There and Everywhere
ask me again in 5 minutes and it will be Maxwell’s Silver Hammer
I love The Fool on the Hill. Although I really wish I could also pick Yellow Submarine…
Favorite Beatles songs change as one’s mood changes. Right at this moment it’s Rain This particular song has the best piece of drumming that I’ve ever heard. Gets me all tingly!
The one and only one that I like is Hey Jude
“Here comes the sun” always puts me in the best mood.
“Golden Slumbers – Carry That Weight – The End”
Brings me through 12 different moods.
As of right now Strawberry Fields Forever.
Let It Be
Get Back
Yesterday
I hate having to pick just one…
This is so hard! Hmm…probably Say The Word ♥
Revolution
though I would love to put I Am The Walrus, Yer Blues, Yesterday, or Something
A Day In The Life, unless you can consider the Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End medley as one song.
Well mine is “Don’t Let Me Down” ahh you guys are right! One sucks! Okay top two! my second is, “Across the Universe” (by the way, has anyone heard the original non phil spector version? very psychedelic much more enjoyable to me, just youtube Across the Universe RARE) @MRSHINYSHOES Acoustic version or band version? I dig the acoustic version much more :3
I just love “Shangri-La”. Oh wait aminute I think that The Rutles did that one.
The first one I ever heard was “I wanna hold your hand” so that is my favorite. Not really an example of their loftier lyrics, but I love the way it plays in my head. Also because I heard them sing it in person on their first trip to the USA. I think it was early 1964 they played in DC, it was an amazing experience. Had a room mate whose father was influential and we had front row seats. The downside was we were pelted with jelly beans the entire time.
@rooeytoo That’s awesome! Some interesting trivia, the Beatles had more platinum records in the U.S. than in their own native England. :D I’m sure that’s why John Lennon saw New York as a new beginning and new home for him.
@gondwanalon I have seen The Rutles (all 4 together, and some of them separately) play about 6 different times and it was fantastic! Girls and middle aged women were screaming and weeping just like with The Beatles. LOL My favorite Rutles tune is Between Us
If you ever get to see Neil Innes (aka Ron Nasty) play a solo show GO!

But Satisfaction is even better.
Hey! How’d this become a discussion on Rolling Stones songs?
@AstroChuck you’re both wrong, Tumblin Dice has it hands down!
Wrong, wrong, wrong… it’s Paint it Black
I lurve Paint it Black! One of my ALL TIME favorites!
We need to stop this nonsense right now. Everyone knows it is Won’t Get Fooled Again!
