Sunless Tanners: Are there any effective good-smelling ones?

I try to use sunless tanners, but they all seem to leave a strange smell that distracts me from my everyday activities. I’ve tried many brands, and they all seem to streak really bad or leave that really unpleasant odor. I’d rather not visit one of those salons, or pay a fortune. Any suggestions?

I don’t often use them, and I’ve yet to find one that doesn’t have any of that funny smell at all. But, when I use them, I prefer the ‘dry mist’ type, spray thingies…..like L’Oreal Sublime Bronze. They’re less messy and don’t seem to smell very much.
I think it’s unavoidable – I would guess that whatever the chemical is that makes sunless tanners work is what is creating the smell.
Perhaps you should think about investing in an Airbrush set up. It’s such a versatile device, you can even pain the hood of your car.
@peedub ha ha! The only problem with an airbrush is that I’d need someone to help me. I’m a, do-it-yourself kind of gal. Plus, I can’t lug that in my travel bag.
Update: After subjecting myself to testing about 10 different products over the last couple summers, I can finally say that I’ve found the sunless tanner I’ve been looking for. It’s the Banana Boat Summer Color lotion. It doesn’t smell like anything nasty (kind of goes on with a shampoo-like fragrance), it doesn’t streak, it develops color very quickly, and after several hours, it left no strong odor. In fact, the only way I could tell that it was on is if I brought my arm up to my nose for a strong sniff. It has like a very faint odor if I put on multiple coats throughout the day only, but nothing strong enough that others would detect. Awesome stuff. I think I paid 8 bucks for it at Longs Drugs.
