Why do women like foot rubs so much?
I know the shoes aren’t the most comfortable, but are there other things women get out of a good foot rub. I gave one last night and it was like instant happy. Is there something I’m missing?

It involves focused loving attention…women crave that.
@Cruiser got it right. All I will add is that it is, in general, non-sexua, but still sensual attention. And we crave that too.
Some women like attention (boo-yah!). Lol. Just kidding, but massages do feel great.
Um…I don’t. You’d think I would, I spent years bartending, waiting and working retail, but I’ve always hated having my feet messed with. Does this make me an exception that proves the rule?
Because they feel so good.
Yeah, I can’t really think of a better answer than “because they feel so good.”
The bottoms of feet have a lot of nerve endings; that is why they can be painful as well as sensitive to massaging. There are also Chinese pressure points there. (My Internist always listens to the pulses in my ankles with his stethoscope.)
The bottom of the foot is one of the few body parts that loses its fat padding as one ages. Make of that what you will.
I love to have my feet massaged.
The real question should be, “Why don’t you like them?”
Foot rubs, meh…what gets me purring like a kitten is having my hair brushed, much more sensual to me than feet. lol
A good farrier is hard to find.
Mountain goat over here, literally and figuratively..us Capricorns, tough, sure footed little things, I could walk across america barefoot. lol
@Coloma I don’t think you can shoe a goat anyways.
@Adirondackwannabe
Right, and we have spongy feet that make us bounce over the rocks. haha
I’m waiting for somebody to bring Pulp Fiction into this.
I personally think it’s because it’s something completely innocuous, yet it’s kind and intimate at the same time. THere isn’t any harm in a foot rub, nothing can be contracted from it, no strenuous measures must be put to its safety, but it involves letting somebody else take your feet in their hands for the sake of your relaxation.
Actually, in the “spiritual’ realm, washing anothers feet is the ultimate act of humility.
@Coloma Excellent answer. Jesus washed the feet of someone, I think was it lepers?
Way OT, but I remember seeing something on TV sometime recently about a church group that actually went out and set up an event for the homeless, where they were able to come and the church members served them meals and then washed their feet. It was pretty awesome.
So it’s a way for women to keep us under their foot’:)
@Adirondackwannabe Have you ever had the pleasure of receiving a foot rub? I learned to love them (and how to do them really, really well) back when I used to get massage therapy every month for my fibro. I now give them to my hubby (as well as get them from him), and he loves it.
I don’t like them at all, they tickle! I also do not like massages or getting a hair cut. It does not feel like “pampering,” it feels like a waste of time when I could be doing something fun or productive!
Gross generalization!
Hmm…I’ve never had a foot rub, I can’t imagine it being that enjoyable though.
