How can I use a Windows-formatted CD-Rom on my Mac?

Asked by Mamradpivo (9665points) September 24th, 2011

My Dutch language class involves a couple hours a week of homework to be done from a CD (listening, reading comprehension, etc). It is apparently a Windows-only disc. When I put it into my Macbook, I can open it as a folder but it’s full of files I can’t use.

I guess I need a modulator (or whatever the proper term is), but I’m not particularly willing to pay money for this program. Can anyone recommend a free/shareware method that I can use?

Thank you very much in advance / Alvast bedankt.

Your Mac can read the CD just fine, but the files are compiled for Windows-only use. You’ll have to use Bootcamp or a Windows PC at the college/library/friend’s house.

You will need a VM like VirtualBox and a copy of Windows. That way you can run Windows in a window.

Well, running Windows isn’t really a free way now, is it? Try this thingo.
