What's paradoxical about you?
I’m a tarot-card-reading student of astrology who teeters on the brink of atheism.
What’s paradoxical in your life?
Any absurd skeletons lurking in your closets?

I found God [or should I say He found me] yet I haven’t found Peace to last.
It’s sorta awkward since I should have peace.
I have spent most of my life as a warrior, yet I am very gentle with children and women, and I cry sometimes over the tribulations of others. I sometimes swear like a trooper, then turn around and pray off and on throughout the day. I love intellectual pursuits, but can’t stand most “intellectuals.” I could go on, but modesty forbids! : D
I really like being alone, a lot, but usually feel lonely when I am alone lol.
@Blackberry I was going to say the same thing. I enjoy being alone, but sometimes it makes me feel lonely.
I’m clingy, but I love my alone time. I can be gruff and offensive, but I’m really sensitive.
I’m atheist but I believe in reincarnation.
@AmWiser I think @WillWorkForChocolate‘s fiery attitude might go well with my laid back personality. And that was a compliment. It’s definitely intriguing.
@Blackberry Well, let’s go! But there are a few subjects that we should probably avoid, LOL. And thanks for that. We both know that could have been phrased in a completely different manner! :P But it’s true that it’s an intriguing thought.
@AmWiser Well, @Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard is the same, so perhaps all four of us should get together for a “together yet alone” party. :)
Well, “renaissance redneck” pretty much says it all.
@WillWorkForChocolate I imagine all of us having drinks together, but not saying much, although we would be totally comfortable in the silence.
Another lonely loner here. I actually have too many contradictions to list. To boil them down, I’d say that I’m an optimist who has a really down attitude about most things. Figure that one out ;-)
@Blackberry I’ll make chocolate cake shots for us all. :)
I can see us all really having a great time being aloners, laughing the day/night away. I hope @picante is joining us too.
I’m there. I’ll bring champagne. I’ll laugh at all your jokes, and I might talk a little bit ;-)
I don’t like honey and I don’t like mustard, but I love honey-mustard.
@picante You’ll talk and you’ll love it. I insist:D
For you, @AmWiser, I’ll talk the night away.
You lonely loners need to get a room.
^^ Hell, I’d pay for ALL of us to go, if I had the moneyl!
@AmWiser : Sure! I know just the hotel you should stay at, too.
How about we change the name doncha just love how I’m horning in without an invite? to the “Gregarious Loners”? Can I come if I bring the rum?
@AmWiser Well, naturally! I wish I could fly you all here, to our local Hilton on the lake. That area is called The Harbor and it’s so pretty! We could even rent out this gorgeous sailboat, The Seawolf that takes you on dinner and sunset cruises.
I love Jane Austen but can get downright raunchy quite frequently.
I’m an evangelical Christian, but I’m also a Mensa member, an Independent with Democratic leanings, and I use Apple Computers. I also am an Environmentalist, a Windchanger with Sojourner’s magazine, and I worked in Obama’s campaign. I forgot to add that I majored in Anthropology before I got my degree in Environmental Studies and that I also love Ancient History.
@janbb I’m still traumatized over your use of the “f-word” last week… :D
In my nurses uniform people I meet trust me implictly and will tell me the most intimate details. Outside of work they will cross the road to avoid me and barely make eye contact.
I love nature and when I see a picture of someone alone surrounded by nature, I often think I would like to be there. But the truth is, that I would be creeped out to be in the woods alone.
I have a great time when I am surrounded by people, but I also have a great time being alone in my home with no noise, no voices, nothing but the sound of leaves blowing in a breeze.
I have always been horrified and terrified at the thought of getting married, yet I am a serious romantic, and think that marriage is a wonderful thing that people who want to should absolutely do.
I am personally very conservative, but politically a bleeding heart liberal.
I can shoulder (so far) any emotional burden others may have and have some peculiar mannerisms that get people to feel they can tell me anything. However, my own emotional burdens can and have brought me to my knees and it’s tremendously hard/nigh impossible for me to tell everything to others.
My insatiable appetite for information is paired with a dire need for simplicity.
@janbb You’d be surprised. =0) Even though I drop f-bombs without a second thought, it shocks me when they come from people I don’t expect, lol.
I hate most other peoples’ opinions, yet I’m a free speech advocate. Go figure.
I hate onions, but like onion chip dip.
I’m a nihilist looking for meaning.
It was either that, or some joke about zombies.
@Symbeline You’re a human in love with the undead? (or whatever you call those buggers haha) =0)
I’m a short guy with a big dick. Is that paradoxical or ironic?
Default answer is both lol. :D
I would never think of going to church, but I envy those that do.
@Symbeline wouldn’t that make you an existentialist?
@King_Pariah Maybe, maybe not, but I don’t know what that is.
I went back it time to stop myselffrom going forward in time to go back and kill myself, stopping me fromm killing myself by killing myself and going back in time to kill the me that was going to kill the other me by returning to the future then gont back to the past to kill me.
I’m an atheist who believes in some concepts concerned with witchcraft. I am a pro-choice feminist that will never abort. I both hate and love humanity.
I don’t always see a reflection when I look in a mirror but I don’t think that’s a paradox either.
I worship & adore my kids, but anyone elses kids can rot in hell for all eternity XD
@Blackberry, which part? I am sitting in my church’s multipurpose building waiting on a class to begin. I drove here in my Prius(jury’s still out on which is better- having a crappy Prius battery with better milage or regular battery with crappy gas milage). I have a white Apple sticker on the back of my Prius. I’m on Steve Wozniak’s email list. I have a membership card from Mensa, and my diploma from BGSU says Environmental Studies…
Also, I share many of the things that @Simone_De_Beauvior talked about. I also am pro choice but would never abort. I never
know whether I I love or hate
humanity more- depends on the people I meet that day! I guess it also depends on my mood that day! ;0)
@GracieT It seriously blows my mind that you seem so smart, but also claim you’re an evangelical christian. Not even a christian, an evangelical christian…...I know it’s possible (obviously), but….I just don’t get it. :/
@GracieT , I think you’re my kind of people. :-)
@Blackberry, I know what you mean. Sometimes I can’t believe it myself. The church that I go to is made up of many people like me. But unfortunately the only people so many of us encounter are the loud vocal members of the Religious Right. They didn’t even exist (the Religious Right) until the mid 70’s (I think, anyway!) and now it is the only image many people have of us. I agree with the idea that the good news should be spread, but I don’t think that the way most evangelicals use is the right way. You “catch more bees with honey” and all that. They actually often disgust me, because that was what pulled me away from the church in the first place. Unfortunately again when my husband and I returned to the “home base” of our church in 2006 and left the daughter church we had been going to many of the people that live by us are the way that repulse me also. PM me if you want more details. Thank you, @Judi! That means more than you know.
@GracieT , It’s good to know I’m not the only one.
