What do you use as your background picture for your computer monitor?
I finally found a picture to use as the background of my computer monitor. Here it is.
I’ve no doubt the brilliant minds of Fluther will recognize it.
Can you share your background picture or tell us about it?
Let’s keep this clean folks. No porn, please.

Right now I have a beautiful fractal design of 3 transparent orangey orbs, like floating planets.
The last wallpaper was a gorgeous Bengal Tiger in the jungle. I like asian art, fractal designs and cool nature shots. :-)
I have a white rat holding a teddy bear. I interchange this pic and one of my nephew and a friend’s “chubby” pic as we are competing in weight watchers.
A picture of a field in Yakutsk, Russia, covered in snow.
I use John’s Background Switcher along with Desktop Nexus… so it chooses randomly from pictures I’ve gathered over the years. Most of the pictures I’ve got in there are of some sort of fantastic scene of nature, or a photo that captures a portion of (what I like to call) the perfect day.
I have a picture of snow on the trees behind my house.
Actually my fluther avatar right now was a wallpaper once . I love the vibrant colors. They are indian pigments for dying fabrics.
Man, you guys are way funner than me. Mine is just the rotating landscape themes that came with the computer.
I like yours best, Jake, but so many of the others are so cool!
The same pic you see for my avatar.
A model of the Gumpert apollo that I ripped from NFS Shift 2 and rendered in Cinema 4D
I currently have a slide show that changes images every 30 seconds. The 5 images are in this order: Earth from space, Mt. Everest, Machu Picchu, the Moonrise, and a waterfall
If anyone else can find more images of the natural world as beautiful as these ones, please send me a link and I’ll add it to the slide show.
I use a folder of pictures mostly from wallbase shuffling every 15 minutes. This is the folder if anyone wants to take a look.
@wildpotato At first glance (before clicking on the link) I thought “what NSFW pics of Dave Chappelle are on the net?”
I bow before the Fluther mods. This question has been forced to move from the general section to the social section. It is a straight forward question, and I had placed it in general in hopes of keeping it clean. Now it’s in social, so have it, folks. I suppose anything goes.
Mine changes with the season and sometimes with my mood. Right now it’s a beautiful shot of a Vermont hillside in autumn, fall colors blazing, taken by my son when he was a student there.
In hot-hot weather I post icy pictures, and I have a great photo of a warm fireplace for midwinter, but otherwise I reflect the actual season, mostly in landscapes, seascapes, and still-life arrangements.
When I’m not in a seasonal mood, this is one of my favorites.
@AmWiser
Pretty! I like universe space pics. too.
A picture a lovely Flutherette sent me of herself.
I use plain colors since I have a lot of icons on my Desktop.
The sombrero galaxy, and yours is the forever on going storm on Jupiter.
And @johnpowell , why the heck do you have so many icons lol?
We just donated a bench with a plaque on it to the community where my mother lived for 17 years, until her death in May.
Here
Then I’m going to use this with Milo in his usual pose.
Or this, which I just found. I am standing in front of a dollhouse my paternal grandfather had built for me when I was three.
I have no background. It is just the boring blue screen. I find pictures too distracting.
Same with my phone. The solid background make it real easy to read.
I’d like to add how I found that multicolored thready swirl that I linked above.
A few years ago I was looking for a nice illustration of apples for something I was putting together, and Google Images showed me this. Being easily distracted most of the time, I digressed from my original search and went there. (This happens to me all the time in dictionaries and encyclopedias, too—one reason why I like the hard copies; you can’t wander so much when you just go straight to your lookup. Serendipity has never been the same.)
I found a number of interesting images at that location. Even though I’m not a Mac user, I enjoyed the graphics.
To find it just now, I searched on apples once again. I don’t know why I was able to remember that seemingly unrelated point of entry.
I have a school of fish stretched across side-by-side monitors at work, cropped from a snorkeling shot taken in the US Virgin Islands last August.
On a double-wide at home I have a spring shot taken in Battery Park with a fence running along the bottoms of both monitors and blooming trees above.
The mustangs I want. My left monitor is the 2011 Grabber Blue Boss 302 that was auctioned off for $450,000 earlier this year (I’ll settle for a regular Boss 302 thank you very much!)
My laptop monitor is a 2011 black California Mustang GT.
Love that car, and since I work from my laptop… its my motivation.
I’m currently using a photo that I took of the western Sierra Nevada mountains in June, 1978: http://i51.tinypic.com/of84n6.jpg
Once the weather cools down here, I’m going to use something Autumnal.
It is sort of a landscape of the surface of a planet with a moon in the background thing. I still quite like it. Previously, I had a series of pictures of snow and owls, polar bears, wolves and the like.
A windmill I visited in France
A photo of a waterfall in the Canadian rockies—I took the pic from the train. Beautiful.
@Nullo; Here is the view, in spring, I see while sitting on the toilet in upstairs bathroom…without any of the post-industrial revolution clutter.
