I read somewhere that the automobile was the demise of the hat (years ago every man wore one ) Cell Phones are doing the same to the watch. Watch makers are noteing huge reductions in production. Ask anyone what time it is, and most likely they will look at their phone.

Why wear a watch when you have a cell? I’m a minimalist. Although a nice watch on a man is sexy.
totally can’t function without a watch.
but then again, could take or leave my phone. which might explain it—i hate that thing.
Nah, I don’t wear a watch. I’m one of those people who glances at my cell phone for the time.
watches are now becoming more of a fashion then actually telling time. I think wrist watches are becoming the way it is with pocket watches.
that being said the majority of the people for the majority of the time dont need wrist watches if they are carrying their cell.
Why was the automobile the demise of the hat?
I agree, and don’t wear a watch either. It seems like no matter where you are now there’s a digital clock nearby. If not, I can also check my phone.
I wear a watch when I’m at work, because I can’t look at my phone. I love my watch! My boyfriend just got it for me- Movado.
I haven’t worn a watch since I was 10. I can’t stand having something on my wrist.
Only stopped wearing mine because my cat ate the bracelet and still haven’t gotten round to getting it replaced… I use my phone instead though, yes.
simone54— because people didn’t need to go to there grandmothers house in a hat if they could go in a car. Duh.
Actually don’t wear a watch but the reason is not due to cell phone- it is because
when I am working on the computer the watch keeps hooking up on the keyboard drawer. On my laptop it would scratch the surface.
I look at my phone just because I have it and wont wear the watch.
I love my watch (it was a present) but haven’t worn it for a while because it needs new battery.
I often go a full day without looking at my phone….it tends to just be in my bag on silent, so it’s not a replacement.
I have a $500 citizen I bought to wear out when I’m dressed up. I’ve worn it like twice because I have my phone. Its nice, but now it just sits in its case in my drawer….
Get this i wear a watch but usually just look at my phone because its faster and im lazy. :P.
Ive worn a watch for the past 6 years i feel naked without one its weird. Also i dont always have my phone on me so watches are good. Besides who wouldnt want to wear an awesome spiderman watch :P
Why isn’t it a batman watch?
I wear my watch everyday. It’s so much easier than reaching into my pocket and pulling out the cell. It looks nice too =P
When I am at work I feel lost if I have’nt got my watch on. The moment I have my rest days, the watch comes of untill I go back to work.
I quit wearing one when I got my first cell years ago. But since have started wearing one again because it looks a little classier. But I also have been known to wear a fedora.
I feel naked without my watch. I check it all the time. Mostly for the date. I also use the alarms and timers like crazy.
I feel naked without a watch and its easier to flick a wrist then pull my phone out of my pocket esp sitting down.
I wear a watch to work but that’s all. I don’t wear a watch any place else anymore. It’s become like a symbol of freedom for me now to take that sucker off! And yeah, if I need to know the time I just look at my phone.
Babo I miss your 3rd-person persona…
@nocountry
wildflower does too…
hahaha….oh Babo, you’re back! <3
I never wear a watch. I never look at it anyway.
no watch for me. My wrist hurts just thinking about it.
I wear my watch some of the time when away from my desk. I take it off as soon as I sit down because I type for many different reasons, and the big clunky thing messes up my ‘home’ position while typing. I also take it off if I am hot, because it seems to stay sticky long after I am cooled off and done sweating. Every Marine has to have a watch. I also find that the constant dirt in the air over here is drawn to my watch slowly turning it brown.
Well even with a phone I always looked at my watch, until it broke….in a football game…so now I’m going to get a new one!
