What could happen if you just turn off the ignition while the car is in Drive with your foot on the brake?

A friend of mine was driving one day, came to a stop, and without thinking, she had her foot on the brakes and she just turned off the ignition. Then she goes, “Oh, $%^&,” puts the car in park, restarts, and good to go. I was wondering what the danger would be in doing so continuously, or even that one time.
