Do you have a short version of the Serenity Prayer that you like to keep in your thoughts like a mantra?

@Jeruba, I’ve been looking everywhere for that quote! Would you please supply attribution? ;-)
As to your Q as stated, mostly I just subvocally breathe in the positives; Strength, compassion, light and peace, and breathe out the negatives; anger, stress discord and pain, in a measured cadence.
Nihil Certum, Nihil Sacrum, Nihil Sine Nefas
Pax Definite Et S. Pax, Pax Sine Scelere
That’s MY version
Let Go & Let God
May peace fill me.
I try to keep short, positive thoughts on hand especially for rough days.
I also use positive words attached to a few deep breaths.
(Peace, Kindness, Love, Strength-etc)
I believe that’s the first time I’ve seen “Lorem ipsum” on Fluther.
A.A. uses the Serenity Prayer at virtually all its meetings in the US. I can’t speak for other countries. When I need to, I mentally recite the whole thing very quickly. Sometimes, I repeat the words “accept, courage, and wisdom” only. There are the occasions when I shorten it further to simply “accept.”
I like that, @Hawaii_Jake , sometimes my breathing mantra gets overused, and therefore loses it’s efficacy. I’ll add your “accept, courage wisdom” to the alternate list…
Nil illegitimo carborundum (translation supplied on request)
and to steal someone’s thunder… >:)
“Don’t let the bastards grind you down”
OK, you guys, who’s been taking my commas? On one of @Jeruba‘s threads??? That’s just mean. Put them back.
I just keep telling myself to breath. I also repeat to myself ‘Radical Acceptance’, which happens to be a DBT skill.
Noli Nothis Permittere Te Terrere
vincit omnia vertias – truth conquers all
I think that would be “veritas.”
Maybe he meant “Green conquers all”? ;-)
yes, the brain/ fingers/keyboard out of sync did me in again….yes veritas
Damn, I liked the “green” thing. Oh, well.
