What do you wear around the house?

My family always wore some kind of street clothes around the house. Our next door neighbor, a man in his 80’s, answers his door wearing an undershirt and underpants. He even comes over to our place in that outfit. I realize this is no crime, but it made me curious to know if other people lived in their underwear, or less, at home.

The most comfortable thing possible. It’s no inappropriate in that I can meet other people in them but they are usually mismatched and scruffy. I’d have to change if I was to go out to the market or something.
Usually sweatpants and a tee shirt. I like to be comfy.
Wife-beater shirt or hacked-up metal band T-shirt, cutoff jean shorts. That’s my general daily uniform.
I put on sweats or PJ’s the second I’m in the door. My kids are the same way. My husband is dressed, shoes and all from when he wakes up until he goes to bed. Weirdo.
Pretty much the same thing I had on that day while working, or not working. I work for myself so my clothes aren’t office friendly at all.
In summer: Cut off jeans, and a tank top.
In winter: Sweat pants and a long sleeve collarless shirt.
and never, ever, shoes.
@ANef_is_Enuf My dad is like that. Although he won’t have his shoes on all the time but he’s dressed well enough so he’s always ready to go out if he needs to or entertain. I hope my husband is like that too!
Depends. Sometimes it’s nothing, sometimes it’s boxers, sometimes it’s a halter top…just depends, ya know?
Thanks, @filmfann. You made me choke on my coffee.
Casual clothes. Sometimes clothes that I use on the street but not the ones I have used recent. For instance if I use some clothes on the street I don’t use those inside too, I prefer to change but I can use those clothes inside if I haven’t used them outside.
But I prefer loose clothes inside the house so I can feel good and comfy.
For now, shorts & T-shirt….. If it gets cooler then sweat pants & a T-shirt.. When I get home I shower & change into my lazy gear :-/ almost straight away. Oh, usually bare feet but I do have slippers…. Never shoes in the house!
T-Shirt and sweatpants.
Depends though. I mix and match a lot. Whatever I find.
I slept last night with my shoes on, belt in loops, and wallet in pocket, and a hooded sweatshirt. I have to walk through the backyard to get from my room to the bathroom. So I usually just pass out in what I was wearing for the day.
Either nothing at all, or a fine smoking jacket and fez. Depends on my mood and the number of wimmenz present.
Either nothing at all, my underwear and a random shirt, or shorts with a tank top. Sweatpants are just too hot.
@Blackberry I do live in SC, but I live in the upscale fancy city part of it. This is a picture of the neighborhood I live in.
@Blackberry A lot different from your original perspective, eh?
It depends on the weather. I have a pair of cargo-style shorts that I wear around the house when it’s’ warm out. When it’s cooler, I wear either old jeans or a pair of sweatpants I bought from Abercrombie about 8 or 9 years ago now; And if I’m not going anywhere, I have a fantastic hoodie that I wear.
A big t-shirt or a v-neck and shorts are my ‘pajamas’ and I’m back in them less than a minute after I walk in the door.
T-shirt and jeans or T-shirt and shorts. The unspoken rule has always been, if you’re going to have people come to the house or you leave the house, wear a bra, brush your teeth but pretty much anything else goes as long as it’s not pajamas.
I wear the same clothes in the house that I would wear to the store. I don’t like changing clothes just to go out. However, When I first get up, and between my shower and my bedroom, I wear nothing, or my bath robe.
If I am at home all day I tend to hang around my flat in jeans and a tshirt. These are clothes that I am comfortable in and it also means that if I need to go out I don’t have to worry about changing into something more “sociably acceptable” for the outside world! Once it gets to, about 5pm, if I don’t have to go out, I will wear one of my boyfriends tshirts and nothing else. I don’t wear shoes in my flat as I like to curl up on the sofa or on my bed when relaxing.
Given that I have three children around, my head injured sister plus her aides that pop in through the day I’m usually nekkid. But I’ve been getting strange looks lately, hmm.
What the hell is a “wife beater?
A tank top? Still don’t get the connection.
@MRSHINYSHOES You chase Mumma round the boudoir in your ninja outfit?
Lol @filmfann! (You did walk into that one @Blackberry).
Trackiedaks or what I wore to work and nobody is coming around, often pjs!
@woodcutter Hey, I hunt down little mischievous people in my slick black Ninja outfit!
The Depends comment! You walked into it. “Depends. Sometimes it’s nothing, sometimes it’s boxers, sometimes it’s a halter top…just depends, ya know?”
That’s all. @filmfann‘s comment made me laugh.
@Bellatrix Is that a squirrel wit a Kalishnakov? ROFLMAO!
I just realized that when the weather gets hot, I wear a big T-shirt and panties or less. Made me realize I don’t have to get dressed. That makes me feel less up-tight, which, for me, is good.
I’ll sometimes wear whale blubber when it’s in season. I’ve often yearned to wear a bison coat but I can’t roller skate in a buffalo herd.
@chewhorse I understand the yearning for a shaggy bison coat (tres chic!) but doesn’t blubber draw flies?
Not after it’s cured, however.. you can probably hear me coming two blocks away.. (that’s why I only wear it at home) ;-)
Cured blubber? Blubber is fat. Is it like bacon cured? I’m having trouble picturing it.
Usually whatever I’ve been wearing, though I do have a retired pair of cargo shorts that I wear for painting, trips to the car, and many kinds of cleaning.
If I’m not expecting guests, I wear casual clothing, e.g. pajamas or sweatsuits. For parties, I dress up more.
