There is higher alcohol and drug abuse, less sunlight, less women…prisons are near full, jobs tend to have long down time, higher depression rate and suicide rate…

Because in the winter it’s dark all day and it’s easier to get away with rape? I don’t know. It sounds like an awful depressing place to live in my opinion.

Alcohol is a huge factor. Alcohol use by the perpetrator and/or the victim was a factor in 75% of the Anchorage rape cases (source).
